I was out playing tug with Kailey today and I wanted her to drop it. But, for the life of me, I just could not remember that cue. I use it multiple times a day, but it was just slipping my mind.
I told her "out" and it worked (probably because I've done this before and she's also great at reading body cues) but I knew that just wasn't the right word.
Not until we had gone inside did I remember that I usually say "let go".
Honestly, this is probably why I do better at agility than dog dancing. I'm terribly inconsistent with my verbal cues when it comes to freestyle, but I don't have to remember much for agility. :lol-sign:
