Well Petie and I have gone from an 80% Q rate to zip lol. I am having a really hard time keeping up and my heart pounds like the dickens.
Our first two runs were Masters Snooker, really ignorant courses. Good thing we already have that title
I knew I couldn't run him very well and decided that I would save myself for the Steeplechase and Jumpers.
I had a lot of dog and he had a handler with no umph :rofl1: Sadly once you fault in Snooker, you have to leave the course. Which meant I didn't get much time to get the yippy skippies out of him and little did I know his frustration was climbing.
In Steeplechase he was primed and ready, nice flowing course that shouldn't have been a problem on any level. However, when we got to the weaves he wanted no part of them, they slowed him down too much and his frustration was so high that he was even barking at me, which very seldom happens. Poor Petie.
In Jumpers, I get the handler of the year stupid mistake award. Again it should have been easy and I had planned on a nice lead out to start. But I didn't do much of a lead out, put myself into the wrong position and then released him too soon and he blasted past the next obstacle. Everything in Masters is faulted including refusals which is what we got, although it really wasn't a refusal, just a handler that knows better that blew it
Any how, we still had a great time and I would gladly spend every day like that, regardless of the Q's or lack of them.
Laura went with us, which always makes us happy, plus she can drive for me if I get real bad. Thanks Laura.
The bonus is also having your own personal photographer!! Laura got a great pic (still don't care if it isn't perfectly focused!!) of Petie coming over the Frame. Awesome pic and it clearly shows his flying style and why His Lordship does the Frame in a whooping 1.24 secs. Rocket man!! She has posted in the photo section is anyone wants to see it and other very nice pics.
Cheers,
Lynn and His Lordship Petie
