Well Petie and I have gone from an 80% Q rate to zip lol. I am having a really hard time keeping up and my heart pounds like the dickens.

Our first two runs were Masters Snooker, really ignorant courses. Good thing we already have that title :D

I knew I couldn't run him very well and decided that I would save myself for the Steeplechase and Jumpers.

I had a lot of dog and he had a handler with no umph :rofl1: Sadly once you fault in Snooker, you have to leave the course. Which meant I didn't get much time to get the yippy skippies out of him and little did I know his frustration was climbing.

In Steeplechase he was primed and ready, nice flowing course that shouldn't have been a problem on any level. However, when we got to the weaves he wanted no part of them, they slowed him down too much and his frustration was so high that he was even barking at me, which very seldom happens. Poor Petie.

In Jumpers, I get the handler of the year stupid mistake award. Again it should have been easy and I had planned on a nice lead out to start. But I didn't do much of a lead out, put myself into the wrong position and then released him too soon and he blasted past the next obstacle. Everything in Masters is faulted including refusals which is what we got, although it really wasn't a refusal, just a handler that knows better that blew it

Any how, we still had a great time and I would gladly spend every day like that, regardless of the Q's or lack of them.

Laura went with us, which always makes us happy, plus she can drive for me if I get real bad. Thanks Laura.

The bonus is also having your own personal photographer!! Laura got a great pic (still don't care if it isn't perfectly focused!!) of Petie coming over the Frame. Awesome pic and it clearly shows his flying style and why His Lordship does the Frame in a whooping 1.24 secs. Rocket man!! She has posted in the photo section is anyone wants to see it and other very nice pics.

Cheers,
Lynn and His Lordship Petie

Hey...you can't fault yourself. You haven't been feeling up to par at all. The important thing is that for the most part you and Petie had a nice day. I am going over to the pictures to see his Lordship now.

Maybe Petie will need for you to be a different kind of mum now, at least until you gain your strength. I am glad you were outside soaking up the d and seeing your dog run...(i know it lifts my spirits to no end to see Victor and Pepper running full out or even Mary do her hundred feet dash)..and i pray you didn't push yourself too hard.
I am glad Laura was there for you.
Pats to Petie...we all know he really won where it counts in your heart.

I've seen much worse handling from people who didn't HAVE a reason;). I'm glad you had a good day despite the on-course problems.

That is one fast a-frame! I'm off to see the picture!

It is a nice picture. Meh so what no Qs, what matters if you both had fun. I'm sure he did, did you? Where were you trialling at?

Yes it was a Morning Star Trial, the last one of the year outdoors. The rest will be at the Dome until June.

I don't care about the Q's, they are nice but not the reason I went. I know when I am feeling like this that running Petie is really difficult, slow handler of mind and body x fast dog often doesn't result in Q's :rofl1:

The whole point in going was to enjoy the day, see some friends, watch some awesome dogs and play with my dog.

Petie is a pretty expressive dog, extremely happy= ears pulled back so they almost or do touch at the back of his head. Pulling on the leash (a little bit) to and from the ring. Head up and his stride while walking is very quick and short. Mouth open a bit, eyes bright and looking at me to tell me to hurry up and to check that I am coming with him :rofl1:

When he looks like that coming to the ring and leaving the ring, that is one very happy dog and that is what counts. He is ready to work/play and it shows.
