The title of this thread explains it all. I am so happy! We competed in RALLY NOVICE A. Our score was a 93.

I think what helped the most was last night. The show is HUGE: 4 days & 2,000 dogs each day. So, I took Lucy down to the location [30 minutes away] and we were able to practice [$5 for 5 minutes], and I also walked her around the place and let her get used to the scents and noises.

I'm still kinda shocked because there were so many people who traveled from out of state, and they go to classes and have a trainer. Lucy and I never went to lessons or a trainer... so I'm proud. :)

On Sunday we're going again, but we're taking a break and not doing it tomorrow.

It'll be FUN! :)

THANKS for all the "good lucks" and "you'll be fines" in my other thread... they helped a bunch!!! :)

well, we didn't do too great today. lucy wouldn't focus on me worth anything. we got a 76... at least that is a Q! the judge wasn't very friendly to me either. oh well, she might just not like kids/teens. 10 points off was from me not pausing for one second after the "hault, sit, walk around dog"... apparently i was supposed to pause after i walked around the dog, then go. it was the last sign, then i looked up and saw "finish"... so i guess i was ready to get out of the ring cause lucy was all over the place.

overall, we got our second leg, and i learned a lot. so... it was successful.
