Right now I am pretty in love with the cute, brilliant little Aussie puppy beside me! So my answer might be a bit skewed lol. But honestly I had such a great weekend with a whole crew of adult Aussies, and this puppy and her littermates are so amazing, that right now I would probably be happy if they were all I was ever allowed to own again.

.
LOL Same! I'm pretty sure I'm sold on one of these aussies forever..

but I'd really like a dobe one day! Perhaps if I ever move somewhere/am in the position to not have to worry about breed-bans/apartment issues.

What I really need is an army of Squashes. He's just about perfect for me.

Stupid F1 mixed breeds of indeterminate parentage. :p

I will always have at least 3-4 chihuahuas! I'd always like to have a Border Collie as well, so I'm not sure how many of these "want" breeds I'll ever get to have! I like having one medium breed and multiple small breeds at a time :)

-Mudi
-Papillon
-Tibetan Spaniel
-English Shepherd
-K/Coolie
-Toller
-Staffordshire Bull Terrier
-French Bulldog
-Jack Russell Terrier

NO! You can't!!!
Not that I want her...but I like visiting her and having my ear screamed in! So, if you take her...I get visitation rights :p
You can visit if you bring your little JRT puppy :)

Little Crossbone clones!!!!

I think someday I'd like a mini poodle, but that always changes. I don't feel a particular draw to specific breeds. And I'm more than content with just Crossbone for the foreseeable future.

Totally missed this - everything you've said on here, and told me, in addition to the things I've read about them, have me absolutely smitten :) In fact if I hadn't wanted a dog sooner rather than later for Rowan's sake, I probably would've ended up with one instead of Riff. Maybe next time!

Also, Sara, if you just gave me Zuma, that would open up a spot for a Koolie
Um. No. She's the one that keeps me sane and reminds me that I really am a good trainer. Besides, she's the gateway herder, once you get her you have to get a koolie.

My list is an ADD nightmare, it seems to change every time I see all these pictures on Chaz. I can't even begin to pin down a list, LOL.

We'll always have a greyhound or two, because we're just totally smitten with the breed in general. Our guys have been such a blessing in our lives.

But as I said, my breed list would be huge, but realistically (some day in the future) we'll adopt from a rescue. I have a mental list of traits we want in a dog and I plan to just hang out on petfinder or at the local pound until the "right" dog comes along.

And I have to say... All those who have listed "Greyhound"? Just do it, you won't regret it. C'mon... you know you waaaaaannnnaaa...

While FCRs and BCs and Goldens are my only serious interests right now in terms of purebreds, I am interested in other breeds. I just don't know if they'll ever fit in time- & resource-wise and I need to learn more about where to get the type I prefer: some Shelties, some PyrSheps (and smooth face only), some Malinois, and for small breeds, some JRTs, Papillons, and BTs.

Oh and if USDAA ever makes its way into my area so I can do agility with a non-AKC breed without s/n, I'd look into English Shepherds and Koolies. Depends where they are in terms of health testing and proving out parents by then.

I should add I think I could have a Kelpie. My bestie has a working bred Kelpie, who is her stock dog. She is planning on doing competing etc with. I instantly fell in love with her. She is my kind of dog. She is planning on breeding her so I might have to steal a puppy, if Tyler allows it. Actually I just won't tell Tyler.

Realistically:

APBT
Boxer
Ridgeback
Bernese Mountain Dog
Saint Bernard
Jack Russell
Aussie
Borzoi
Greyhound
Poodle
Pug
Rottie
Collie
Golden
Springer Spaniel

Way less realistically:
Husky
Neo Mastiff
Presa Canario - probably won't ever happen
Akita
Alaskan Noble Companion Dog
Koolie
Pomeranian
Dachshund

(The last three on not-so-realistically ONLY because of the barking. I don't much care for barking).

I agree! I think an ES and a Kim would be a hilarious, bossy, herdy combination.
Kim is one of the main reasons I would want either ES or Koolies TBH. I really think they are the closest I could get to a Kim-like personality. And I adore my Kim. Biddable yet independent. Bold yet sensitive and always thinking. Moderate all-weather all-purpose build. Wicked sense of humor. Control freak. All around farmdog personality. Friendly and safe with everyone but wraps all the peoples around her paw and plays them like a fiddle. Watchdog. And if our slowly expanding minifarm setup comes to fruition they'd be awfully useful too.
