Sheltie
Ibizan Hound

Many more Staffords
Plott
Scottish Deerhound. Though most likely, I'll never own one, and wind up satisfying my sighthound craving with a Whippet instead. But I really want a Deerhound.
toy Poodle
maybe an ACD?
Boston

That's all I'm thinking of right now, but it could change at any moment.

I want another Cricket

At some point I would like: (Including breeds I own or have owned but love)
Ibizan Hound (I think I will always have to have one or two)
Saluki
Greyhound (there's one that comes to my work that I want to steal)
Galgos (want to rescue one though)
Standard Xoloitzcuintli (pining for one SO bad)
Sheltie (prob my top choice pic for my next herding breed)
Papillon
Border Collie
Whippet
Lurcher
Scottish Deerhound (really starting to love scruffy wirey dogs)
Rhodesian Ridgeback
Maybe a (c)(k)oolie
Silken Windhound
Alaskan Noble Companion Dog
Australian Shepherd
Another Mexidog

Josh so far wants:
French Bulldog
APBT
Rhodesian Ridgeback

Not sure what else he wants....

For the most part I've owned multiple herding breeds and realistically will always have at least one in my household.

But... I'm also super into sighthounds if you couldn't tell... so I'm probably always going to have herding breeds and sighthounds lol. Josh and I have seriously been looking into a Rhodesian Ridgeback for his future dog. On one hand I think they would be a really good fit, but on the other hand sometimes I think it may be too much dog for him. I definitely think a French Bulldog is in our future for sure. He obsesses over them anytime he sees a cute one.

Did I mention I want another Cricket? Seriously... she is so beyond perfect for me it's insane!

I don't know if I've replied to this or not...but oh well.

Whippet
Chihuahua
Dachshund
French bulldog
Greyhound
Alaskan Noble Companion Dog
Mutts

Who knows there may be more, but these are all breeds I really want to own someday. The ANCD I am on the fence about, just because of the coat. I love the way it looks, but I have had enough double coated dog to last me 5 lifetimes.

Australian Kelpie
Australian Koolie
Anatolian Shepherd
Staffie
JRT

Possibles:
Dutch Shepherd
GSD
Whippet
Ibizan Hound

Rick likes and I would enjoy:

We will always have rescued mixes, I'm certain. Rescued pit bulls and hounds will always have a place in our home and hearts.

Oh I forgot sighthounds <3. I'd love an azawakh. Or a saluki.
It's ever changing, but my short list is..
Field Bred Standard Poodle
Another ACD
Kelpie
Belgian (Terv or Mal)
Shelter mutt...herding mix...BC/ACD/Aussie.
I keep debating with myself on a Chinese Crested..but I think if I were to go with a small breed...I'd pluck one out of the shelter. Moving to AZ, lots of Chi mixes!
Oh my god these things change month to month.

Standard Poodles are out. Belgians are out for now. My next breed will more than likely be a spaniel, Field Spaniel. Still would like a Kelpie but not unless they become more developed here. Sighthound is still a yes, absolutely, but probably a rescue greyhound. Pretty much my rundown will be an ACD or two, a spaniel, and a sighthound. :p

-Vizsla
-Herder [Border Collie, Koolie, Kelpie ..that's my fullstop list for all herders I would likely ever own but nextdog is already known. So the other two would be years away]

..I mean, I like a lot of other breeds but realistically those are the two I will own.

Want
-Kelpie (male, black and tan)
-Any coonhound variety (black and tan & bluetick are my favorites)
-German Shepherd Dog
-Chihuahua (I used to want a chi but I'm not so sure anymore. Black and tan is my favorite, long haired a plus)
-Standard Poodle (black)

Own/have owned and want more!!!
-Great Dane (fawn and harlequin)
-APBT
-Toy Poodle (black)

Since I set out to write this list, I've forgotten most of my favorite breeds. lol I'm sure I'll remember more later. I would be happy if I only ever owned APBTs from here on out but I like too many dogs to just have one breed. And if you cannot tell.... I like black and tan. ;)

Yay spaniels! If you get a fieldie I want to visit. They seem like solid colored Welshies basically, so I'm in love. There are some good Welshie breeders up your way too.

- Papillons. I will definitely have more

At least 3 or 4 of the following, probably depending on connections/litters I like at the right time. I'd love one of each but that seems like a tall order.

- Border Collie
- Australian shepherd
- Belgian Tervuren
- Another sheltie
- Pyr Shep
- Golden

There's quite a few more breeds that I also really like too but see as less likely to happen at this point. Who knows though.

I'd also jump on the chance for a:

- sheltie/papillon. I know one mix of these and he's super cool. Got to hang out with him yesterday. He was purposely bred for sports, which I'm not sure about but he's a great in between. about 15 lbs, not nearly sheltie coat, longer nosed than a pap, big huge ears and sable piebald.
- Border collie/terrier cross. I just love that combo. I'm hoping to rescue one one day.
Mostly the same as above.

I think belgians are less likely than the others. I'm real hit or miss with belgians, I'm finding. And I'd probably go Miniature American Shepherd vs Aussie (I know, I know). Add koolie on the list and that's about it.

Mia may be my last papillon for a while. Then I say that and think there's no way that'll happen. We'll see.

My favorite thing about these threads is coming back a year later and seeing what I said that I wanted. My updated thoughts in green.
Breeds I want:
OES Will still totally own someday!
ACD - rescue I've pretty much given up on this.
JRT (4.5 more months -ish!) Best. Decision. Ever.
Generic bully dog - rescue ayup
Something the has the build of all of Erin's dogs (shorter coated/moderate build) to skijor/bikejor with. This one next, plz. :p Definite yes to this one still.

Breeds Ryan wants:
HUSKY!!!! - rescue I'm pretty sure I'm putting the official ixnay on this one.
Generic bully dog - rescue
Berner (sometimes, he asks when he sees a picture, the other two he brings up on a regular basis) I haven't heard this one from Ryan lately? So hopefully we are out of the woods on this one :p

I left off all of the breeds that we like but realisitcally would not own. Like Ryan brings up the idea of another corgi every once in a while, but I just alpha roll him into submission and he gives up on the idea for a while.

Ideally (when we own our own home) I would like 2 permadogs, and then I would love to foster for a specific local ACD rescue and a specific local bully rescue. Because those two orgs are fantastico. This has changed to me wanting one permadog, and I still want to foster for the same local bully rescue. Again, I've given up on ACD on the whole.
Ones that weren't in the original list that I think I want:
Borzoi
Mini Poodle

TL;DR Would own JRT, OES, Borzoi, Mini Poodle, generic rescue dogs shaped like stardogs' dogs, generic bully dogs. One permadog, one bully foster.

From my experience the ANCD coat is super low maintenance. Yarrow does blow his coat and shed a LOT but it is only once a year, in the spring. Otherwise, he doesn't shed a hair (literally, zero shedding), and his coat takes care of its self amazingly. I only have to brush him when he's shedding, and I only bathe him when he rolls in something gross (which he does like to do!). He never mats, dirt just dries and rolls off him, I love love love his coat!

Love how I never came back to this thread - don't know Stanley, only ever met Steve of saltlick kennels.
