These are funny and I agree with most.

What Makes a Guy 'Undateable'? Oh, Any of 311 Different Things - Lemondrop.com

Let's add some of our own. I find clinginess and "You don't spend enough time with me" a major turn-off. There are some guys who are like girls...the stereotypical whiney, clingy girls. In other words, too much neediness seems unmasculine and very annoying to me.

Another one: Any kind of affectation where he's trying too hard to put on some kind of aire, some kind of phoniness. Being contrived just doesn't appeal to me.

And the most creepy of all is jealousy with little or no warrant. The second I would notice that kind of insecurity, I'd run, not walk. And going along with that is a guy who thinks he is entitled to control me in any way. Have you ever had a guy order for you? Where's the puke gif?

What a strange list. So, uh, a guy wearing his engineering ring makes him undateable?

Wow.. Alot of the list is really rediculous.. :S

Alot of it seems a tad shallow to me.

The only thing I see on that list that doesn't talk about some aspect of appearance is liking animals.

My list would contain things like, must not be a bigot, must be a kind person, must like animals (especially dogs), and other things like that.

Well yes. Some of those things are really trivial. But how about the sun glasses indoors so you can't read his eyes or expression? Or the shirt half un-done on the top with gold chains dangling down? LOL. Even though they may not be huge offenses, some of those things would be enough of a deterrent or a turn off for me.

But yeah....I'm more interested in watching for real character flaws. Oh and yes...must genuinely like animals.

Our species would quickly die out if all woman avoided 311 trivial things. lol. A lot of those I can agree with, though.

I think the unbuttoned shirt with the chest hair hanging out is gross. Wallet chains are tacky. I wouldn't be with someone who didn't like pets, either.

And for those of you who say looks don't matter at all, well, would you date a guy (even an awesomely nice guy) who...

-had a mullet?
-wore a fanny pack every day instead of carrying a wallet?
-wore sandals with knee high socks?
-wore a smelly, dirty hat every day?
-collected barbie dolls and my little ponies?
-wore tighty whiteys?
-wore dresses on the weekends?
-picked his nose and ate it?

etc, etc?

Why does this matter so much to people? they are just UNDERPANTS.
They are extremely gross and unattractive underpants.

So you're getting all hot and heavy, and you unbutton his pants to find a pair of stained-to-offwhite Fruit-of-the-loom tighties underneath. Now tell me that wouldn't be a turn off. lol.

Tighty Whiteys, otherwise commonly known as 'regular underpants', are general targets for wedgies and mervins, due to the pleasing effects of the elesticity, which results in a desireable snap and hopefully a tear.
Not to mention their sperm count lowering abilities. lol.

Tighty whiteys are fine by me.. By the time I would be ... umm getting to that point.. they would be coming off.

Really they are just underwear. Not all guys like boxers. So you are saying, sorry no comfort for you, even though its hidden from 99.9% of people you meet, you are unattractive if you prefer them. If you wanted to wear granny panties vs a thong (or other way round) how would you feel if you were told your choice of underwear made you unacceptable? No matter how clean or well fitting it was.

I am all for good hygiene, but lets not be too shallow.

Ya, most things on that list mean NOTHING to me..........BUT...........

I agree with:
Speedos
Men who have nasty/patchy facial hair..........if you CAN'T grow it right, SHAVE IT OFF and move on, LOL
Men wearing jewelry....just don't like it, IMO it makes them look like a sissy. Wedding rings are about the ONLY kind of jewelry I don't mind seeing on a man.
Dirty nasty ball caps.........not a favorite, not necessarily a big turn off, but depending on the man/situation a lot of times it is.

Disagree with the rest.......bad speller? Pffft, more than 1/2 the men I know are bad spellers no matter their education level. Guys ordering a salad? I don't care WHAT they order as long as they eat like a human being with manners. Shiny, pointy shoes? Don't care as long as they are dressed appropriately to match the shoes........I'd hate to see jeans, Tshirt, and shiny pointy shoes paired up together hahahaha

Some of my OWN major turn offs:
Clingy/needy. Jealousy. Self centered. Conceited. Overly macho. In the opposite direction, overly sensitive. Unkempt, now don't get me wrong, a man doesn't have to be groomed to the nines or anything......but wrinkled clothes, stained, uncombed, etc........no thanks. To many tattoos, any facial piercings.........before anyone jumps on this comment, this is MY opinion of what I find attractive or a turn off and I don't want to date a guy covered in tatts or piercings, I don't find it attractive. There are plenty who do, they can go date THOSE people, LOL

And passive-aggressiveness. Unfortunately, that's pretty much every woman ever, so we just have to deal.

Well this is part of the 'chivalry is dead and women killed it' argument. That USED to be the norm, and considered chivalrous, but evidently now it's misogynistic and is shunned. Problem is, women don't tell the men when y'all prefer to change from one way to another.

My grandfather still orders for my grandmother, my dad still for my mom. In fact, my grandparents got mad at me once when I didn't order for one of my girlfriends ("It's not proper") and I tried to explain that the first time I did as I'd been taught, the girl literally blew up at me.

I mean it's not like we don't consult y'all before hand and just go 'she's having the chicken'. Every dinner date has that little discussion of 'what do you think you'll get?' while we're cruising through the menu.

First of all, no, I don't want Kevin to order for me UNLESS I have decided while the waiter is away and he KNOWS what I want and exactly how I want it..........otherwise, I'll order myself. Same goes for HIM and his order. There are a few places we go, and I ALWAYS order the SAME EXACT THING every time, LOL.......he is welcome to order for me there and sometimes he does ;)

Now, about your linky GO, teehee

9. Overlooking Our Quiet Acts of Thoughtfulness
We know it’s disappointing that we men aren’t great at expressing ourselves verbally. (And we’re working on that.) But in the same vein, we’re disappointed that you can’t seem to acknowledge the nonverbal acts of caring that we perform. Like changing the oil in your car, for example, or staying up late to make sure you arrived home safely from your business trip. Chivalry also falls into this category. The art of being a gentleman doesn’t have to mean the end of feminism. Paying for dinner, holding the door open, standing up when you walk into a room…these are all gestures that demonstrate our awareness of others. Our awareness of you, specifically. While courtesy isn’t the sum total of love, it’s often how we show our feelings day to day. Women shouldn’t be so quick to rebuff that.
This is one thing that bothers me too and I'm not even a guy! I have friends who rag and rag about their SO or husband. I have reminded them of things pointed out there in number 9, but they seem to shrug them off as 'part of the job' for their man.

Erm.....no. The day Kevin starts thinking of all the little things I do for him, our home, and our kids as just 'part of the job' is the day he's going to get an ear full........and I expect him to feel the same way. I really appreciate it when he takes care of the vehicles, when he pulls the trash to the curb, when he opens my doors, when he helps me on with my coat, helps me on with jewelry, picks up something as trivial as a scratch off ticket for me at the gas station on the way home from work. All those things show me he is THINKING OF ME without being asked to do so.........I am on his mind :D

Those things mean a whole bunch to me........the big romantic gestures are fewer and farther between......it's all the little daily things added up that make me aware of how much he loves me and vice versa :)

My list is similar... But add in:

- No back hair or overgrown chest hair... Just no that doesn't work for me... Hairy is gross
- No overly strong needs to be drunk
- They need to let me win at beer pong most of the time... and pretty much any other game

Other than those, Fran summed it up nicely :)

Having doors opened is a nice touch, but when the guy will literally smack your hand away from the door handle because you had the gall to open the door for yourself because you got there first? TURN OFF. I'm not the type to stand there with my hands limply at my side. You get there first? Cool. Open away. I get there first? I will open my own d*mn restaurant door.

Passive-aggressiveness is a unisex trait and it's just annoying both ways.

And bad spelling does turn me off, but I'm an English major. :lol-sign:

And MUST LOVE ANIMALS! And I mean *love*...people who just "like" dogs don't seem to get along as well because, well, I want a lot of dogs.

What I mean by ordering for you is not asking what you want first....just saying, "And she'll have...." without consulting you first. Actually, no one has ever done that to me. I saw it in a movie once and just about threw something at the TV. LOL.

I had someone order for me once...they did ask what I wanted but then followed it up with "And she'll have the salad out before her meal." Ok, yes, I did want my salad first, but the way it came out made me feel like I was 4 and couldn't tell the waiter that myself, or that the salad wasn't going to be coming out first anyway.
