I watched the video... Kwanita acted very much the same way when she had Giardia... I understand that they have seen some bones in the xray but it concerns me that they have waited so long to do the blood work... Parasites can reek havock on their systems... Hopefully the vet will get to the bottom of this soon... I was 6 weeks in getting mine back to normal... You and Zero are in my prayers...

When are you supposed to go back to the vet? When Brody had the bones in his intestines it caused a terrible infection. When they started the enemas and the first batch of bones came out the vet said (don't mean to be gross) a lot of green pus and infection came out right behind it when that happened they started Brody on IV antibiotics right away. They thought for sure he had sepsis but thank God it was all caught in time. I don't want to scare you and obviously you are in a different situation (Brody had a complete blockage and was VERY sick within 48 hours) but I would ask the doctor if infection is possible. I am still praying that he will just pass the bones soon.

Thank you for your advice. The vets have already done blood work on zero and they came back completely normal, he is in good health.

I am heading to the vets this morning and the radiologist will be reviewing his old x rays and new ones ( I am having them take new ones to see if the bones are still there and if in fact they are the problem)

Since back on his soupy water/gastro mix he has been fabulous and kept all food down and no crying at all. I will update once i know more

I'm posting for Nbc0 because she is at her parents house for the night. As far as I know Zero is doing fine, he is sleeping like a normal pup. The radiologist took a look at his x rays and the bones have only moved a small bit and has suggested that she continue on the gastro canned food (she is adding pumpkin into the diet to hopefully keep him regular). Unfortunately it's not helpful at all! It's just continuing to do the same stuff she has been doing, but to be patient.

Well that just sounds maddeningly unhelpful...I'd think that if a blockage hadn't moved in a week, somethign besides "have someone else take a look at the x-rays" would be in order...

I agree with Zoom. Poor Zero hasn't kept food down in well over a week if the posts are correct. That is simply not good.

I know cats and dogs are probably different, but when Adobe had a blockage he had emergency surgery immediately. That is why I am so confused... there are bones stuck... they need to get out. :/

Yeah I hope you guys get more news and more help soon! That vet doesn't sound too helpful :( Reminds me of when Sakari had kidney failure and lost weight so quickly. A week without eating showed quickly!

I am home now and Zero is doing alot better. The vets yesterday did an enema which flushed some bone particles out. He slept through the night and kept all his food down, he is going back to the vet for observation and a test to see if the bones are gone, I'm to try his regular food (small amount) and see if he can digest that once he comes back home.

Whee! This is such a relief! Give him a hug for me and then go buy yourself a drink. ;)

So glad to hear he's doing better. I haven't been writing much in this thread, but I've been reading it everytime I see new posts in it.

Yes i am very glad too, It's nice to see my boy get a good nights rest. I will only post in here again if something goes wrong. If not then look forward to a picture post soon (maybe this weekend if the weather is nice enough). My little guy needs some outings soon.
