I am happy to report that he is doing well, he has kept his breakfast down (that was never the problem in the first place but it's still good news) and he is sleeping on the porch right now peacefully. He had a good day at work with mommy so fingers are crossed for the weekend

I'm so glad Zero is feeling better! Hurrah! His gastro smoothie looks delish. ; )

Gosh... it could have been the turkey legs. I've never had a problem with them, but I don't feed them too often. I'll probably be REALLY careful about feeding them after this, they can be pretty big after all, being weight-bearing bones.

POOR POOR guy!!! I hope he gets better very soon. I would never feed my dog bones... raw or not. Too scary and risky in my mind. I hope this doesn't happen to him again!!!

I gave Kharma a couple of turkey legs once . . . I'll not do that again. That's the one thing she's had a problem with - chucked them up late that night. For some reason she hadn't chewed those bones, and her MO is usually to pulverize bones.

Saje's suggestion of some canned pumpkin sounds like a good idea. Hope he passes those things on through with no further problems!

Pepper sure is on my lap after hearing that. Poor dear Zero. Not gall stones? I had one block the bile duct and it came and went and caused me great pain..i am just thinking out loud..but it did come and go but when it was present the stone had moved back and forth i was in agony.....pancreatitis really hurt mary and she cried like that. OMg i am sorry.

i just reread the rest of the thread..bones scare me to death. WE are bone allergic here i just won't take the chance. I am glad you found the solution.

Thank you! Yeah it was quite the mystery and I was worried but i just wont ever feed turkey legs again because little Zero seems to not chew them completely. Thank you for the suggestion though, i will keep it in mind if for some reason it comes back (pray that it wont)

OK, so he was doing great for about two days but unfortunately fell back into the old routine of vomiting up undigested food last night.

Today we've gone back to giving him teeny tiny amounts of gastro blended into a watery consistency and so far he's kept it all down. Hopefully it lasts..

According to the barium series we had done, there is no blockage. The x-rays showed some bones stuck in his intestine and the vet figures he vomits his food up because it hurts. Liquids can pass through with no problem.

Bones stuck I would think would equal some amount of a blockage. What is the next course of action? This has been going on for quite some time for the poor guy. Sending good vibes your way!

The vets said if it continues on much longer then they'd talk to a radiologist about the x-rays. I'm not sure what that's going to determine, but that's "the next step".

I am new to this site therefore don't know what has been happening... I did watch the video... I am wondering if they tested for Giardia... My Siberian was diagnosed with Giardia and she acted very much the same way... Parasites can be very dibilitating... Praying for you and Zero...
