Those photos are spectacular! What a cool day. I am in love with giraffes, so those are definitely my favorite shots .

Do the bats actually just hang out while you are in there feeding them? They are so cool looking, but I can imagine myself panicking if they started flapping around!

Yup, the bats were really friendly...overly at times. They did start to flap around at one point when another keeper joined us in their enclosure....

They have a very sharp claw that they try to snag you with. It can break skin pretty easily so we had to be careful. I really loved the experience with the bats despite the caution....very cool creatures.
Something that I found really interesting is that they only hung upright long enough to eliminate...so as not to soil themselves and then they went back to hanging upside down.

Oh, I am so envious Doc. I would love nothing more than to do that. How did you manage to get in and be able to do that? I only live about 5 hours from you and I would love nothing more than to come and do that for a day.

I am excited because we are going to the Vancouver Zoo and Aquarium.
