Well?

I am personaly a romance-ish type, but anything that keeps you thinking and makes it hard to figure out the ending...

How about all you chazzers? Anyone a really big reading freak?

I kinda like books that are more murder-mystery but from the murderer's point of view :p

I like murder mysteries, science fiction/fantasy, real-life adventure, poetry, history, and the occasional biography. Actually, I'll read just about anything except horror (I have an over-active imagination... It's bad enough walking the dogs down deserted country roads at night and have them suddenly start growling at something I can't see... I don't need to throw scary things I've read into the mix - not ready for Depends just yet. :D )

Babyblue: Have you read White City? It's classified as fiction but follows the case of an actual serial killer at the time of the Chicago World's Fair (late 1800s). An interesting (and disturbing) book...

I read a TON and usually all of it can be classified in that funny genre called "Literary Fiction," but I am known to read some chick lit and romance (a girl's got to have a lite read for those summer days at the beach :) and those winter nights in front of the fire). I just finished Rand's Atlas Shrugged, so I feel a little empty without that ritual every night before bed. And I'm getting near the end of Jame's Baldwin's Another Country, which I've been trying to savor for almost a year now. I like philosophical commentary books that are disguised as delicious lit.
And then, of course, I'm a sucker for Susan Conant mysteries. Rien and Rowdy could be twins.

I tend to wander throughout the bookstore and end up with a pretty ecclectic mix. Not usually any romance, but some current fiction, some classics, some real-life adventure, some biographies. I love to re-read as well, and it isn't unusual for me to have an Albert Camus book on the nightstand, a Jodi Picoult next to the computer, and a non-fiction book near the bathtub...and to read parts of each in the same day.

I like V.C Andrews novels thats about as close as I get to romance novels.
I loved those books when I was younger! I should try to dig some out to read again.

I've read some V.C. Andrews, twisted romance, lol.

I like non-fiction books about history mainly.
I also really like fantasy/science fiction, I love immersing myself in a totally different world.

I also read books by V.C. Andrews, and the Sisterhood of the traveling pants books, those are kind of romance-ish... More Chick-lit tho, and Chick-lit is what started me onto romance :p

I love all sorts of books- anything good. I have to admit I really enjoy a good sci-fi or fantasy novel. The key word is good, and I will admit good ones are hard to come by.

Right now I'm reading Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry pratchett. Omg, it's so much fun.

It does help that I absolutely love Neil Gaiman's books.... he needs to write more! Such an amazing author.

I've never read a romance book though. Not really my thing.

I mostly read dog behavior, science, history...anything to do with dogs. LOL. It's been a while, but I like murder mysteries, philosophy, psychology type things, most things which are well written. I like a lot of very old books. I enjoy language and the way they use to speak.

Has anyone read The Anatomy of a Murder? That's a reeeeeeeeelly good one. It's been ages since I read it, but remember loving it.

I love murder mysteries....

james Patterson is my all time favourite.

If you like murder mysteries I recommend his "series".... it starts with "1st to die" then "2nd Chance" Then "3rd degree" then "4th of July" and the latest one is "5th Horseman" I like this series because each book has a clear conclusion... not like some series that keeps going from book to book and there is no real conclusion.... each one of these books is a new mystery but has the same characters. REALLY good.

most of the books i read now are... factual ones i guess you could say. ones that i learn from. at the moment its "ethics of what we eat" covering veganism, vegetarianism, how all food is raised, the disadvantages and advantages of organic. where you can buy organic and more humane food etc. its a good read. i recomend it. then i have a book i want to read on meditation.

for novels, i like forensic stuff. you know - find the body and find out who did it. their good.
or autobiography's. there is one by gillian rolton, an australianequestrian gold medallist. its really good to.
