I'm curious what supplements people take for themselves, how many, and if they've noticed any particular benefit (or problems).

Here's my list:
2x Source Naturals Life Force Multiple No Iron
2x Rainbow Light Food 4 Life
2x Nordic Naturals Ultimate Omega

Here's the product websites:

I've been taking the fish oil for years, and it seems to have halted the spread of my arthritis. The multivitamins seem to help with the 2pm energy crash I used to have.

None... though everyone keeps tellng me I should. I get told my iron levels are probably too low because I'm a vegan and I'm so darn white. I didn't know being pale had anything to do with iron/

I've heard vinegar is really good for you. That's cheap enough. I spend so dang much money on Lyric's boat load of suppliments, special diet and meds/vet visits, I can't afford for me to take any suppliments. LOL. I try to eat right, but fail miserably at it lately. One of these days I'm going to get back to a regime.

None.

I tried some vitamins a while ago and the whole ginko thing for memory. Didn't work, noticed no difference. Stayed on it for two months and then stopped wasting money.

If you're a vegan, you're prone to either low iron or low B12 (or both!). Both can cause anemia, which can make your skin pale. This is easily corrected with supplements, but can be dangerous if it persists for long periods of time (especially as you get older).

You may want to look into a simple spirulina supplement. It's completely natural, vegetarian, and packed with B12 and iron.

Here's an excellent spirulina supplement:

I've actually always just been pale. Even when I ate meat. People always joke around that I glow in the dark. Though I am going to look into that just because it's nice to know what's going on with your body. Maybe I have always just been lacking something?

Your doctor can easily test you for anemia with a simple blood test. It's very hard (if not impossible) to get proper nutrition from a vegan diet without supplementation, although I certainly mean no disrespect for choosing that lifestyle.

Be aware that using spirulina for B12 supplementation is not without a bit of controversy. There are many low-quality spirulina supplements out there (probably more bad ones than there are good ones) that in my opinion give a bad name to an otherwise good supplement. Cyanotech and Earthrise both provide high-quality spirulina supplements.

Of course, research it yourself and/or talk to your doctor before believing anything I say. :)

I take no offence. I've got a shell of steel. I get a lot worse than helpful suggestions on a day to day basis. It's something that slipped my mind but has been brought up before. I should forsure get checked out to make sure I am eating properly.
