This is absolutely no question.

I am devoted to the American Pit Bull Terrier. There's a lot to love.

-They are completely misunderstood
-They have a high pain threshold and can deal with 'abuse' (kids pulling ears, poking eyes, stepping on tails) that most other breeds cannot
-They are beautiful
-They are courageous
-They are loyal
-They can be beaten, starved, forced to fight, and still lick your face when everything's said and done
-They are quickly being banned in many countries and must be saved
-They are fun loving, wacky, and cute
-They know how to cheer you up
-They have that smile that you can't resist
-They will protect you, but they know a good situation from a bad one
-They are hot
-They are emotionally sensitive
-They have an amazing desire to please
-Do you really need a reason?

I could go on forever.

I never want to be without some sort of GSD/GSD mix - probably a mix because I really prefer the old fashioned, more compact, sturdier GSDs than the oversized, leggy ones that have taken over the standard now.

And I can't imagine not sharing life with a few Filas. They actually have a great deal in common with a good GSD - mainly that these are not dogs you "train;" they are dogs you talk to and teach, and they are so attuned to you that they pick up on what you want before you ever say it, yet they are independent thinkers. And I dearly love their quirks . . .

My favorite breeds. . .

Border Collie- They are so smart, energetic, companionable, fun, trusting, devoted, and all around great dogs. I can see why they are not a good match for some, but I wish I had one now. They are a good reason to go out in the rain, they'll play with you, they'll always outsmart you, they need a constant stream of tasks, etc., and istead of this being a con it's my favorite thing about them. :D

Labrador Retriever- What can you say about labs? Their loyalty, sweetness, good looks, devotion, and adorableness speaks for them. I love them!!!

Golden Retriever- They're soo beautiful, soo sweet, and soo loving! Love 'em!

Rottweiler- Rotties are some of my favorite doggies! I have had a few of them and love how loyal they are and how safe I feel with them. My Rottie Harley used to crack me up when people saw him and were so scared of him! He is one of the silliest, goofiest, sweetest dogs ever!

Mutts- They are so different and unpredicatable(not generally in behavior, but I mean that they are always a surprise when all you are told about a dog is that they're a "mutt" you never know about them. They can have all the good traits from every breed that is in them, and I find all the mutts I know endearing.
I have a mystery(prediction: small Portuguese Hound) and a Border Collie/Lab/Chow mix that are as different as night and day. My BC mix is the sweetest, most loving dog I've ever met. Both my dogs are an absolute joy!:D

Rottweiler

But. . .
I LOVE ALL DOGS!

Yoko I agree with you! Mutts can be anything! they are full of personality and you never know what you are going to get! my dog, Pepperchini (thats what I call her, but her real name is just Pepper), is stubborn, is full of energy but at the same time can be a complete couch potato! :)

for me it has to be cattle dogs. agree with all that has been said about them and they are the only dog with so many names . cattle dog aka heelers aka blue heelers aka red heelers aka Queensland heelers aka Austrailian cattle dogs aka Queensland cattle dogs lol they have to be all that because that is alot to have to live up to.

Mine has to be the serbian sylvan dog, or shumadinac or vucjak. They are a ver y old school dog, bred specifcally as a flock guard dog, and are genious when it comes to fighting off wolves. they have the mindset of the old ways, dont come near me or mine, and itll be ok.... LOOK at me or mine wrong, anr ur dead! They are absolutly amazing animals, often described like being next to a lion or a tiger owned by a animal trainer, u jus dont want them to get it in there head to not like you! They have this stare, that cant go straigh through you and look directly into your soul. Tuff as nails, long lived, dont like being indoors, my kinda dog. UNFORTUNATLY, only about 25-35 pure specimins left in the world =(

If you're going to make me pick one, then I'd say a spaniel.
The one I have, and the ones I've been around, are cute, loving, loyal, and they make you their world... the only problem I've had and seen others having is the housetraining... contrary to what people keep claiming, which is that they're stupid, I feel it's because they feel there is no valid reason for them to just go when and where they want. Now my cocker gets A potato chip everytime she goes outside, and apparently that is a sufficiently valid reason...
