Mine is a gsd, i love the look the personality, everything. I think the biggest reason is because i grew up with them my parents raised them and it's both my mom and dad's favorite breed....it was great growing up in a house full of shepherds, i believe my very first dog was either a shepherd husky cross or a purebred shepherd. I love mutts too, i have a wide variety in my house. I also love collies, and newfoundlands and st benards and rottys...shoot i like all breeds :D

Before I knew a whole lot about the temperment of the Toller, I was attracted to their size (17-21 inches, 37-51lbs) and coat colour. I love dogs with pigment that blends nicely with the coat (in the Toller's case, orange body with orangey-pink pigment). After I met my first couple of Tollers, I researched them a lot and I discovered that they were pretty much (lol...I say pretty much, because I doubt many people enjoy the "Toller scream") everything that I wanted in a dog. They're very high energy, high drive dogs and are always wanting to work. They can be pretty stubborn but are highly intelligent, you have to convince them that what ever you're trying to teach them was actually their idea, but once they understand what you're asking of them they're usually very willing to please. I also love the fact that they aren't remotely close to Goldens and Labradors in temperament, they're very similar to the Border Collie except instead of herding instincts, they retrieve. They're also very happy dogs and are constantly wagging their tails, they also look like they have a permanent smile (well, unless they're serious about something...such as a ball) Of course, I could go on and on but that would take days, so I'll stop here.....there is no dog better for me than a well bred, well trained Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever. I'll *always* have them. I also really love Rotties and Belgians (Groenendael) aswell but I don't feel like talking about all three at the moment...lol

Doberman Pinscher.

Reasons:

-Strong
-Courageous
-They look like hardcore canine Warriors.
-Elegant
-Low maintenance (Fur wise – One of my favorite reasons)

(I love GSDs too Doggie Mom) My Dad had them all through his life. I've had two. Fantastic dogs. Mine did not look like a lot you see today. They weren't as extremely angulated, although they had some slope. They were heavy boned, strong, sturdy....good size. They came everywhere with me when I rode my horses. I've had lots of other dogs too; Labs, mutts, now my Chi's. Love them too.

But now that I've had a Doberman Pinscher, I'd have to say, hands down, they're my favorite breed. Highly intelligent, eager to learn and work, obedient, fearless, extraordinarily attached to their owner, extremely fun loving and silly, atheletic, strong, agile, good at so many things, I think very handsome and sleek, alert to the tiniest thing in their environment, watchful, determined....just wonderful. LOL. I'm so closely bonded with Lyric....I don't think I've ever had as close a bond with any other dog. Of course, I do more with him.

I will always have a Lhasa Apso.

-they're very loyal
-very loving
-they're big dogs trapped in a little dog's body :D
-they don't shed
-they let you know when a stranger is around, but you don't have to worry about them biting someone's head off.
-the "Lhasa Flop" where they lay down and flop their legs behind them. So cute.

I could go on and on and on....

Why do we have to pick just ONE? ;)

I'm a lover of mutts, mutts, mutts, mutts! Why? Because they are all rescues and you never know what you're going to get out of 'em.. and I've grown up with mutts (and one toy poodle) all my life and they are the best dogs!!

Buuut, I like the larger dogs, specifically the great dane and bullmastiff. :) Why? I'm not entirely sure, they are beautiful, gorgeous animals and they have great characteristics. The great dane especially fits into our lifestyle.. we cuddle a lot in this family! :D

I'm sorry, I couldn't just pick one.

Dobe!

After having one I can not imagine life without them! They are protective and at the same time huge babies you cna still take out in public. They are so goofy and can make you smile by doing just about anything(byron was trying to hide under grass clippings yesterday). they are basically everything I like in a dog. Not to mention I think they are gorgoues!

I would have to say that my all around favorite breed would be a Lab. I thin the only breed of dog that I'll ever have is a Dachshund. At this point in my life I'm really enjoying having a smaller dog. He's got such a good temperment and is so easy to have around. Very low maintainence.:D

Mutts.

Because you never know what you get exactly. The thrill of not knowing is what gets me.

Border Collies. I love their energy, their enthusiasm, their determination. They're serious, fiery, hardworking dogs and very intense. I get 100% from my dog, with anything I ask him to do. If I tell him to bring me the paper, he does so immediately and lays it at my feet with a flourish. :D He seeks my approval for anything out-of-the-ordinary and when given the choice, almost always picks the right thing. (Which I'm thrilled with - he has a brilliant mind and I think I'd have been killed in my sleep by now if he was as evil as my Papillon!)
Borders are very intense about everything they do... Yet they have this wonderful little "off" button once they mature. As soon as my BC gets inside, he turns into a little baby and just sleeps and cuddles. He's amazingly easy to live with for such an energetic dog.

I gravitate towards the herding breeds. I have had GSD's "forever" and will always have them, I defected to "aussies" and I love them to, will always have those as well. My next dog will either be another aussie, I like the "mini's" to, or a malinois. In the end I like alot of breeds, just can't afford to have "one" of everyone I like LOL

My favorite breed is the Doberman. I love their enthusiam, willingness to please, how loyal they are to their owners, and I love the fact that they are velcro dogs. I am never alone because Chico is always behind me. Another reason is because they have short fur, so ,less shedding. I also like the look of a Doberman, which is tall and lean and they look elegant.

I also like Presa's, Fila's and GSD's

Boxers.

I love my boxer, Molly, to pieces and there is no way I will ever not own one. I have friends who are scared of dogs but they love her. One of my neighbors, whenever he is over he always has to tell us, "she is just such a great dog. She's perfect". She is just the sweetest dog, so loyal and man does she *listen* lol. And it's so funny how she knows she really shouldn't be in my bed, so she waits until I fall asleep and then carefully jumps up. Too bad she doesn't know that I love having her in my bed with me. :p
