Most likely breeds will be more border collies, ACDs, GSDs, goldens, maybe a mal , and various shelter mutts

I used to not post in these kinds of threads for fear people would steal my names. I've come to the conclusion that you can steal them all you want because I'm going to use them anyway. ;)

Siren or Scarlett will be the name of my next female APBT. Likely will be my next dog in a year or two.
Banjo - My next male dog, period.
Wicked - Female standard poodle

Those are the only dogs I'm planning on in the future. If I end up with something else, I have a very long list of favorite names to start looking.

Memphis will be my next female ACD (really hoping for a double masked blue). I would also like to use Blink-182/Blink for another Cattle Dog. I think Josh's next Chessie is going to be Waylon or Jessie, depending on gender.

I have a whole slew of names, but they could go either dog or horse so I don't want to peg them specifically.

Future names in no particular order---

Pacemaker
Hophead
Grave digger "Gravy"
Frostbite
Sharkbait

Sky - Female Border Collie
(She'll be Ziva in case Sky doesn't fit her for some reason)

It won't be for a few more years, but I can't wait!

I love River for a female even though I know it's fairly common (so much River Song love though) and Myka for a female as well. I don't have any male names. We're planning on getting a female, likely BC or Aussie in a little over a year so she'll either be River or Myka, which ever fits better!

I really want an all black female named Cadence. I'm picturing a black female Labrador, but we'll see what happens.

Trout
Trillian
Howl
Calcifer
Cowgirl
Laska
Banjara
Livingston
Ursula
Cincinnatus C.

I really don't know as far as breeds go. Most likely the next dog or two will be either pit/pit type mixes, rescue boxers, or some kind of terrier/herder type mutt. But when the time comes to get another dog, I might also just take the next one I meet that's a great fit, which could be any breed.

I'm interested in owning: rhodesian ridgebacks, bernese mountain dogs, aussies, GSDs, boxers, goldens, pugs, dachshunds, pomeranians, chihuahuas....I'd also strongly consider dobies and rotties if I'm comfortable enough with a more guardy breed. And if I ever get to have more time to dedicate to training/sporting/handling my own dog, I'd be looking into breeds like koolies, BCs, etc.

I'd like to own a larger, guardier breed one day (presa or neo mastiff, probably) and doing PP work, but I'm not sure if my life will ever go well with that.

Remus and Elegy for future Chow names

I really want a Poodle named Gary someday...

And I will someday have a guinea pig named Inspector Radish

After having a list of 100+ names and basically wanting to use NONE of them (either because they didn't roll off the tongue, they didn't fit my puppy, etc), I can't say I have a "list" anymore, lol.

I do still really want a dog named Zephyr someday. It was a big maybe for my Silken puppy, but then I found out it's an incredibly common name in Silkens, which killed it for me. I might use it for a Brittany, though. :) I also want a dog named Cobweb.

I dont know about names. I've had a list for years but then never really want to use any of the names I have on it lol.

Breeds... probably more ACDs and boxers. There aren't many breeds I'm interested in owning and most of my list in the past has just been various herding breeds that I wasn't sure which I liked best. But I'm pretty pleased with what I chose. No more dogs until after Juno, so hopefully a long time and we'll see what I'm in need of then.

I'm really liking Jett or Rizzo for a female Chinese Crested Puff. Frizzle for a female poodle.

Dobes and Ibizans only from here on out.

As for names.... gah. I basically give up having a list, and I can't even begin to choose call names until I know litter themes.

That said, I really want another eeeeevil name for my next Ibizan. Seren is short for Serenity, but we never call her that because she's anything but serene. Instead, people that know her know her as "Sarin, like the gas!" ... I'd change the spelling if Seren wasn't tied to her registered name.

I love River for a female even though I know it's fairly common (so much River Song love though)

I keep trying to take the name off my list because I know SO many Rivers, but I can't for the same reason. And I actually had River on my list before getting into DW, because River Tam. So it is double-perfect.

I suppose I'll eventually find out if I care enough about the popularity to take it off the list; for now, it stays.

I love River for a female even though I know it's fairly common

River is one of my favourites, too. It was almost Dance's name, almost Journey's name and almost Everest's name. But it's so common, sadly. I didn't realize that initially. I suppose there is nothing wrong with naming a dog something common, but I prefer more unusual names generally. Even so, my next female Aussie might end up with that name... hopefully in several years it's popularity declines a bit!

Anyway, I don't have a list of names anymore. With the exception of River and a couple of others. I never seem to use names off of my lists. And my taste in names change every couple of years it seems anyway. I suck at names. I was very glad that Everest came with a name I already loved so that I didn't have to stress over the perfect name for her anymore.

I'd like to name a black bi Aussie after a wild Killer Whale one day though. There are several names to choose from and I love Killer Whales more than I can even describe. I almost did it for Ev, but didn't want to push my boundaries with her litter theme. Hopefully someday I can just name a dog whatever I want without it having to tie into a theme.

As for breeds, I can't honestly see myself with anything but Aussies from here on out. Although once I no longer have a Doberman I think I'll miss having a more serious, visual deterrent type of dog. I really would like a Tervuren or a Groenendael someday. But, life only has room for so many dogs! And as a single person, I don't ever want a gazillion. Right now having two older dogs who like to just hang out and two young dogs to take everywhere is fun. But eventually just two would be ideal I think. Who knows. I haven't planned my future dogs at all at this point since I just got Ev. I just know that the very next one will definitely be another Aussie, probably from the same breeder, and it won't be for a long time. And I imagine I'll have no names chosen that I feel are good enough just like this time haha.

I don't do names because things never pan out the way they should.

For breeds I want a variety and will probably stick to 2-3 dogs at a time. Lots of herders appeal, maybe a terrier mix, maybe more papillons. Who knows!
