Cheese is bad for you actually... Unfortunately :D

I can believe your friend lost so much, I just can't see someone going from no excercise a day to 3 hours a day. You need to take it slow, no way you can start running even a mile a day if you haven't excercized regularly in a long time. You can get yourself hurt badly.

I would walk first, fast walks. First just 10 minutes, then 15, then 20 etc. When you're more comfortable walking fast on a longer distance, you can start running. Wait a few months and you'll see that walking the dog will be quite a sport sometimes, lol.

hate to be an advertiser here but pick up The South Beach Diet book at Kmart for like $5. It's got a lot of good information on diet, exercise, and being healthy overall. I've lost 13 pounds so far following these principles, that's in about 3 weeks.

I heard that including more dairy in your diet actually aids in weight loss. Its been on commercials. Mind you most of the time tv is bs but you know :D

lol, it's kinda funny how I try to gain as much wieght as possible when everyone else is trying to lose. Anyways, I would go into more sports, when soccer ends look into something else like... field hockey or something. Try lifting some weights. Eat 3 meals a day, and just be active constantly. If you want some muscle try eating more protien. Umm... oh, and sugar also helps with building muscle... I wouldn't worry about weight, but more on your figure. Maybe this helps

Dakota....I know somebody that lost either 5 or 10 lbs in a week just from eating 5 radishes a day (not just the radishes...she ate other food too). I was going to try that but radishes are just not real tasty to me!

As every one mentioned, eat less, exercise more. Some of these quick weight loss programs may work...but, most people go back to their orginal way of eating and gain all the weight back plus more. The secret to losing weight is to learn a whole new lifestyle and a new way of eating. Try to limit red meats, stay away from all processed foods, canned foods, any sugar products etc. Try to eat only whole foods, for example on first waking drink a glass of filtered pure water, wait 1/2 hour then have a bowl of organic fruit. eat more whole grains, no more white bread or overly process breads...make sure you limit bread and when you do have it make sure it's whole grain bread. Eat more organic cereals without any added sugar or salt (table salt is terrible for you and promotes weight gain...try to get some celtic salt instead...celtic salt has many nutrients and minerals and the body uses it differently than processed unhealthy table salt)...replace all hot drinks including coffee, hot chocolate etc with green tea or some other healthy teas with no caffeine. Eat more organic brown and wild rice mixed with mixed organic veggies...try to make this the base of your diet. For meat try to eat fish such as haddock, white fish, salmon etc. For most vitamins like vitamin E they are fat solable and need fat to absorb them...just good fat not bad fat... :D . I also try to eat fruit instead of candy or chips...there is also sugar in fruits as well...but your body can metabolize them better. Try to drink more soy milk, stay away from butter and margarine...especially margarine unless it has no hyrdronated oils partially hydronated oils are very bad as well. I get a flax oil margarine that is not hydronated. Sprinkle crushed flax seeds on your cereal and wheat germ (high in Vitamin E) these will make you feel fuller. Also, don't eat til your full...that is actually terrible for digestion and digestive enzymes have a hard time handling a full belly. This is basically the diet I follow...for exercise I do things I enjoy that way its a lifestyle change...I don't do things that I think I will give up once the weight is gone. Put on some music and dance, take your dogs for hikes, run up and down stairs instead of taking esculators or elavators...walk instead of drive...etc. etc.
There are many lifestyle changes that are easy to follow and do for the rest of your life. Weight loss should be slow and gradual...people who lose weight quickly are unhealthier and most times gain back 10 fold. By eating smart you will also be more balanced mentally, people who eat a horrible diet of too many dairy products, sweets, red meat, carbonated drinks often have trouble sleeping, and feel slightly unbalanced and eating wrong foods can cause depression and feelings of unwell. It really upsets me when doctor throw all these anti depression pills at children when 9 times out of 10 it could be healed by eating properly. :(

Why don't you look on the internet to find out how many calories a person your size can take in?

ok i can't give u a correct answer. i never had to be on a diet :( but please dont do any crash diets. your intestines will rupture and stuff. your BFF is crazy for losing so muc weight within that time, but i bet she doesn't even realize. it's got to be addicting, to lose more and more weight. but please, like u said do the south beach diet. or i heard of Atkins' diet but dont overdo it. just eat healthy and exercise, but dont rush it. we dont want u to be bulimic or no crap like that. please...

Yeah The South Beach Diet isn't really a diet per say, it teaches you how to eat healthy for life, with emphasis on heart health especially. It's not an eat less approach either, which I love, it's eat the things that make your body work to digest.

Hun, don't react so harshly to your size - it's only a number. It's important not to measure yourself against other people especially when it comes to waist sizes and body weight. I used to do that and ended up losing a lot of weight (the wrong way). Then it got pointed out to me that the reason I'd never get down to the itsy bitsy sizes like some of the other girls is cause no matter how much weight you lose, your hip bones done come closer together. I was also comparing my weight with other people but I also learned that this is wrong because the people I was comparing with were couch potatos who never did anything, so the little weight that was on them was weak muscle and fat. I on the other hand am always active and doing stuff so I have more muscle mass (which is heavier than fat) meaning I could be the exact same size as them, but I'd still WEIGH more. My new motto - Be healthy, be happy :D

Everybody has a different build. I'm short and skinny. Some people are just a little wider. There's nothing wrong with that. Colby has a funky build, LOL - big body on little legs. She's at a good weight though and even if she weren't, she'd still be my baby girl and I'd love her. Don't be ashamed of how you look. And in my opinion, it's better to be a little larger than a little smaller.
