Well my daddy is a Veteran, so I thanked him, plus the 20+ people I have on my facebook that are currently serving or are Vets. So I have done my good deed for the day :)

I went to the ceremonies downtown today and laid a wreath :)

Remember guys, remembering those who have served, who have lost their lives, or who are currently serving, should not be a one day a year thing.

THANK YOU, PUCK!

I wanted to spend the day with Kyle, but I had to work. So I'll probably go and see him this evening. Sooo glad he came home safe. That was not the case for everyone.

Agreed.
I remember very often, especially since daddy was in the Army, so I'm reminded everyday :)

The PA I work with is a vet, and I thanked him to the point that he started getting annoyed. It was fun. But I also worked extra hard so he could go home early. I am so very thankful to vets for all they've done for our country.

I did.

Sadly, a friend's son was killed Tuesday in Afghanistan. We got the news this morning. What a tragic day for all who knew and loved him and fought beside him. :(

And here are a few quotes from a local Marine who is away from his unit after being wounded in Afghanistan. He came back to the US on October 8th after being shot in an ambush attack:

His wounds were serious — after six surgeries, he has nearly healed — but the 20-year-old Marine will not be able to rejoin his unit until its deployment is complete in January.

“You have no idea how difficult that is,” he said. “As long as they’re over there, I would rather be with them.”
And it seems he has been able to find a bit of humor in it all:

“I have to tell you that it was probably the morphine, but I started laughing at my situation,” LeMoine said. “I was naked, shot in the butt and in Afghanistan.”
God bless those men and women. :)
