I thought it looked interesting, but don't really have enough hard experience to tell if it's something that would be safe or not. It looks like it is, and the dynamic of the thing makes good sense, but thought I'd throw it out to those with more expertise . . .

I've always just used a standard harness when I had one who thought pulling was de rigeur and had good results, but . . .

Why do you want a harness? Is it to stop pulling? I have never heard of a harness being any good for that.

looks neat, I would like to know as well. I use a hardness for charlie because they recomend it for little dogs like mine that are very sensitive arond the neck area. It does not really stop the pulling, but while he is learning it stops him from choking himself.

I cannot recall the name of the harness, but I strongly suggest the harness that has the clip for the leash in the front of the harness on the CHEST. This makes it so the dog *cannot* pull. THe dog would instead be turned back towards you. I've heard many good things about these harnesses, and they seem to be quite successful in teaching the dog not to pull.

I can't see how that harness in the link would prevent pulling. It clips on the back.

I've had a little experience with the Sporn and find that it's really hit and miss. For some dogs it seems to work alright but for other it's as if they're wearing a normal harness and can cause armpit abrasions...ooooch! I've stopped using them all together several years years back. Gentle Leader carries the front clip that Tessa was talking about and they do work quite well. Again, just allows control but does not train a dog not to pull.

I've got everyone past the pulling urge - just having a regular harness on helped with that. It gave me just that little edge of extra control - I'm actually strong enough to pull back if I need to, even with my Monsters, lol! I do like a harness though, simply because it makes OTHER people feel more at ease when I've got the Terrible Twosome out together.

I did wonder about the part going under the arms . . . it would have to be well padded with something soft to keep it from rubbing . . .

I'm still working on some sort of sheath to fit over their bodies to keep them together so I can dress them up like the two-headed dog in Harry Potter one Hallowe'en

I use one of those when I ride with the dogs on my bike so they don't drag me into traffic lol. I've never really had to use the anti-pullness of it but I think it pinches.

It's called a Sporn Halter and for myself and most people I've talked to who have used it, it didn't work at all.

The staps that go under the armpit are padded, but the pads don't stay put and the dog's legs are bent outward.

It really does look uncomfortable.

I like the Harry Potter idea. lol Make sure you bring food along for the drooling effect.

I have two and have used them on various dogs and they haven't worked too well. I suppose it worked on Dakota but he is so sensitive to tension on the leash that I think he stopped before the strings around his shoulders even tightened.

It's the first one you see on that page but there's many colors and medallions you can choose from. Mine is red with rhinestones - I love it!
Honestly, I've tried different ones on her (never for the reason to stop pulling though) because it's better for her neck/throat but this one by far has been the hardiest, most beautiful one I've seen and used. It hugs around the chest area so no strain is put on the neck and it's leather.. lasts a long time.

I don't know if you're looking for something that would stop pulling but if for comfort AND style combined, I'd definitely go for this one

Miss Shiva the Diva would ADORE the pink one with the rhinestones . . . Can you imagine . . . Shiva in that?? At least no one would hurt her feelings by calling her a "he." She is such a Diva . . .
