have you tried ink washes? I think that would be a medium made to order for your dogs. You could have all the intensity and alot less work after your initial grinding layout.
That's coming along nicely, Grace! I can't wait to see it finished. I know what you mean about pictures making the quality go down. My tiger looks much better in "real life."
Thanks, Jen! I'll try. I need to post pics soon, too.
wow - great work everyone!!! It's nice to see people so into artwork!
Just wanted to post a quick sketch I did (at work - don't tell - LOL) of a lab. He was suppose to look wet, but I don't think I quite captured that....oh well.
Drawing realistic things is really hard for me. I need to practice more.
I also wish I could paint. My mom paints, but I never picked it up. I SUCK at it. Last summer I started a painting of Mochi on the beach as the sun came up. I was really happy with the background landscape (the beach was rocky and misty and the sunlight was reflecting off all these small puddles, it looked really cool) but Mochi looked TERRIBLE!! I tossed it in the trash.
I want to take some courses and learn mediums other than pencil and pen.
I did this today. I got the idea from that sketch I did of the rabid Kena sled dog. I'm going to be making T-shirts of the design. I tried to go for an Ed Roth hotrod monster feel.
Great image...one suggestion..really look at a flame. Light a candle and see where the greatest white to yellow ratio is. I had to do that for a flag i made for my son's scout troop for flaming arrows. I did similar to what you have done until i studied fire a bit more closely. IT really made a difference,
