Ok since you all thought I was a bad owner I'm going to drop him off at the SPCA, I don't feel like i deserve a dog any more

You people made it sound like I hit the dog. Also, all I ever said at the beginning of the post was SHUT UP for the person telling me to leave my BF...Both of the comments seem rude to me..

well bye
Ok. nobody was saying that you are a bad person.
If you feel that you need to dump the dog then that doesn't say much for your relationship with him

Taking him to a shelter is by no means giving him a good home.
If you want to him to have better life than you can give him.........then find him a home, not a shelter!

I agree. At least you'll know he's going to a better home if you rehome him yourself. Or maybe there's a boston terrier rescue near you? I'm sure they'll find a great home for him, most rescues are very dovoted to their dogs - and they'll be in a family-type enviroment at a foster home while waiting for a new owner instead of at a shelter. :)

cowgurl - They do the darndest things sometimes. :)

myboston - So you'd rather rehome, or shelter, both of your dogs instead of training the dogs and telling your bf to leave the one alone? I hope the pit is in a good home with your mom and that she's caring for and training it. I also hope you rehome your boston instead of putting it in a shelter where it could be put to sleep in a matter of days (if it's not a no kill shelter). Why get a dog, or dogs, if you don't want to care for them, train them and make sure no one hurts them? If you want to keep the dog tell your bf to leave it alone and not hit it ever again.

So, i came home and caught my bf hitting my dog becuse it was being bad. Now every time i try to pet him he hides in fear,,

will this stop when he forgets about it

help
Oh dear here we go again. If I may add my 2 cents worth these are the types of dogs that end up in the shelter and have to try to be rehabilitated and sad but many can not. Hitting a dog may instill fear but it would if I were hit too. And dogs like humans began to snap and fight back. When your pup bites him because he is tired of being hit then what? I would much rather have an animal love me and want to please me and protect me not duck and cower everytime I came near it. A dog that is given respect and love will give obedience respect and love back. Please get him to read all the posts here and understand hitting is bad. If that does not work visit a shelter in your area and ask to see dogs that have been hit.

Sounds to me like the OP has some serious Jerry Springer like anger issues. I pity any animal that lives in that home.

The Op was on here a while ago and was taking heat b/c of her brilliant theory that her poor sweet little puppy was to remain in a crate all day, only come out for potty, not playing. And only when it turned 6 months old would it come out for lots of play and interaction,I remember this person very clearly. 'Nuff said about that poor dogs home. but whatever, right?
