I think I want to keep a running list of what breed people say Logan is. I thought Gavroche got some unusual things (I mean really, Chihuahua? He's 60 freaking pounds!), but so far Logan's had some unusual ones too xD

So far, he has been called:
Shaved collie
Smooth collie (I swear I could have hugged that guy :rofl1:)
"lassie-dog" mix
collie mix

So far not bad, right?

Well, then today we get:
Great dane (3 times!)
Greyhound
GSD
Mutt (ahem, my mutt happens to be a show dog :lol-sign: )

Great Dane? With that nose? This just confirms my opinion that people will say anything.

And Gavroche looks VERY much like a chihuahua. Really. Very much. If you kind of squint and smoke funny stuff.

My blue merle Smooth boy was called an Irish Wolfhound (not Russian Wolfhound) by more than one person in his life. One mistake I understand ... three I cannot. :p

And you'd better get used to Greyhound! LOL

Oh.. gosh, I've gotten all kinds of breeds... both with my roughs and smooths.

Most people seem to get the roughs, no matter what color, are Collies.. though not all.... however my smooths have been called Aussies, Cattle dogs, GSD mixes (On the tris)... I've gotten lots of people asking if they were greyhounds (a blue merle puppy I had years ago).

And of course I've gotten a lot of Collie mixes from people... or people that think they are just shaved Collies, which is the most recent one I got.

Yeah, I've had a lot of GSD mixes lately. One person even asked "Is your German Shepherd mixed with something?" ummmmm...o0

Rofl! I guess german shepherds kinda have similar coloring. I forget, are Logan's ears pretty tippy on their own or do they tend to prick like Loki's?

Wanna trade? Apparently I have a flat collie. :rofl1:

The left one tends to go prick like daddy's, and the right one's pretty tippy on its own. But his ears are usually stuck down. Maybe they think I chopped the tips off his ears? :rofl1:

My roommate calls him a "soft coated collie" lol

I love the random breed guesses!! You know what I've been asked if Sierra is? Greyhound. GREYHOUND! (Or a mix of, at least.) In fact I've been asked more than once! I've been asked several times, by different people. It's scary.

I won't take over your thread with Sierra photos, but here's a link to my last picture thread for those who aren't familiar with my dogs stature, and don't immediately understand how crazy the suggestion is.

Greyhound she definitely is NOT.

HAHA I've had people think Bamm was a coyote or wolf mix. I've gotten GSD many times and Collie. I've gotten pit bull and no I'm so not kidding... my border collie mix is totally a lovable pitty. lol.

LOL. That's too funny! It's amazing what breeds they can turn into. Jose` was a Lab when he was a puppy. He was Bonnie's baby. (lol...not) Bonnie was a Lab. Jose` is a Chihuahua, albeit a funny looking Chi. But he's still only 10 lbs.

Mine have gotten some funny breed guesses as well.

Someone asked if Chloe was a husky puppy before. lol.

Tucker's been called a Yorkie... but people usually ASK what he is. There aren't many long coated chis around here.

Rory has been called a number of things... the two weirdest ones were borzoi and golden retriever. He's been called a brittany spaniel, a collie, a "lassie dog," a sheepdog... I know there are more but I'm drawing a blank. People seem thrown off by his coloring. I've had a bunch of people TELL me "oh, the red ones are RARE." Like uh, no they're not.

Blue gets the wolf or coyote mix, but the best one of them all is a cocker spaniel. According to the shelter we got him from he is a corgi mix.

LOL, those are ridiculous!

I get Australian Shepherd a lot with my ACD - I don't think it's because people actually think they look alike, but they're both herding breeds that are Australian ________, so people tend to mix the names up.

I'm actually a little bit excited about what I'm going to get with Quinn. So far I've had a Collie guess and a few Shelties. I'm lucky she isn't black and white or a tri, I know we'd be getting "Is she a BC?" constantly. Oh well, I like telling people about the breed.

It's okay, we had what I'm pretty sure was beagle border collie mix come into work the other day, and the people were convinced it was a mini goldendoodle.

It doesn't help that shelters and pet stores mislabel so many dogs, and the owners tell everyone they have an X, and then that's what everyone thinks that breed is or looks like.
