I'd go to a good cutter who can see which way yours grows . My hair is very short and has many cowlicks , so some cuts are impossible . Good luck !!

OK, I'll agree with Fransheska on Victoria Beckham's and Sienna Miller's cuts, if you must go short.

BUT ...

I want my hair short again
<sigh> No, no .... NO you don't!! Short hair is a pain in the arse. If you cut it short again you can't easily pull it back so you're gonna hafta fuss with it all the time, unless you get some "man cut" or something ... but you don't want that, do you? Why not let it continue to grow out? (Ya, a pain sometimes ... but on the can't-do-nothing-with-it funky stage ... this too shall pass. But not if you chop it all off again.)

I LOVE the Sienna Miller cut, and some of the others posted in the thread, but they're just too long for me. :( Cute little bobs look great on me, but it's a pain to style them.

I had this a while ago and it looked great. It grew out to this in February and I'm sick of the length by now. I have no intention of growing it out long again - it's actually easier for me to take care of at this length, and it looks great. I have very frizzy/curly hair that is a pain with the hot, humid summers here. When it's short it doesn't curl or frizz much, and I can just blow dry it or leave it down without a hassle.

Right now I want the back VERY short (an inch at most, and shorter near the neck) and some extra in front to frame my face and do something with.

I wish Iw as brave enough to go short lol but my face is too fat I think to pull off short hair

I agree with grammy about going to someone who can customize a cut to the way your hair grows although It doesn't look like you have too many cowlicks. not like Hannah and I. Hannah has like 4 LOL and I have one RIGHT in the middle of the front, one on the left side and one right at the back near the top. I HATE them

-=sigh=- Well OK, if you insist. :(

The style in that first picture does look really cute on you. Maybe just do that one again?

- it's actually easier for me to take care of at this length, and it looks great. I have very frizzy/curly hair that is a pain with the hot, humid summers here. When it's short it doesn't curl or frizz much, and I can just blow dry it or leave it down without a hassle.
See, I found exactly the opposite!!

Used to live back East where it was hot and humid in the summer ... and I have thick, curly hair that I blow-dry straight ... but it WILL curl up and sometimes frizz in humid heat.
But I found it easier to keep it as long as possible ... because the weight of thick hair naturally pulls out the curl/frizz that happens when it's hot and humid. When I tried short hair once (at around 12 or so), it was IMPOSSIBLE to manage .. would go into Orphan Annie curls without TONS of gel, styling cream, light holding spray, and other hair products to keep it down.

Now that it's long again (waist length) I don't need ANY gel or hair spray at all. Anytime I want a "short look" I have a dozen different ways to put it up and own all kinds of little clips, hair sticks, etc.(The drier weather out West is better too ... once blow-dried straight it STAYS straight. Yay!!) Plus, quite frankly I absolutely suck at keeping "hair appointments" to keep up short hair. I just hate anybody touching my hair and screwing around with it ... and keeping up hair appointments is just a pain in the ass.

Anyway ... I think that first picture looks really cute on you. I vote you do that one again if you want short. :)

I'm just going through my FB photos to try and give you an idea of how it looks, so I apologize in advance for how much they suck. . .

This is how my hair looked several hours after straightening it on a relatively dry day. (Forgive my rude gesture in the photo - my friend thought it was funny to take pictures of me, and that was my polite response.) It was bone straight, bangs and all, and after just a few hours outside the ends had already started curling and the rest was frizzing. If I had the high-res picture on my computer right now I'd upload it to show you, since the facebook one is really low-quality, but you can get the idea from it.

When I don't do anything at all to it, it curls and curls. They look good for five minutes, but the second there's a gust of wind or I try to put my hair up, they turn to frizz. It's fine most of the time, but if I'm out all day or if I actually want to look good it's frustrating.

I loved the previous cut, but I want something shorter and less cute and fun. . . a little neater and more professional looking. I'm also not sure if I want to do the exact same haircut again, which is why I'm asking for the ideas. I have an appointment at a salon tomorrow with the stylist my friend recommended, and I wanted some more ideas and pics so I don't go in there completely empty-handed.

Hayley - I love those! :)

Wow ... it really looks gorgeous in that picture!! I dunno ... you might think it was starting to get curly/frizzy ... but I think it looks great. Know what I've figured out a while ago? On unwanted curl/frizz or any other particular thing (hair-related or not) that you might hate ... YOU always notice it yourself more than others do. I think that's true for everybody. Our own perceived flaws scream at us ... but whisper to everyone else.

(Forgive my rude gesture in the photo - my friend thought it was funny to take pictures of me, and that was my polite response.)
Classic Nolu!! :rofl1: :rofl1:

The pictures HaileyMarie posted were cute, and shorter if that's what you want. But for "professioanl looking" I think your old cut fits that image better. Mostly because of the long, skinny side-burn looking thingys in the pictures Hailey posted. Only slightly extreme ... but generally any extreme is moving away from "professional looking".

ETA to add some links to pictures.

Hmmm ... maybe some of these to give you a few ideas?
