We had a thread a few months ago about cars, but no one shared pictures! (what is wrong with you all?)

So this time I want to SEE your crate/tether/storage, etc. set up in your car/van/truck for your doggie activities. And decals!

Do you leave everything in there all the time, are you still looking for a better set up/organization? Did you buy the vehicle with your set up in mind, or did you tailor it for your vehicle? What plans do you have to change/add/upgrade in the future?

We will excuse the stains and fur - or at least I will, since my car is always covered in both from the dogs.

AND GO.

I wish I could participate. But I don't really have a set up :rofl1:

I have a Snoozer carseat in my back seat, that's about it.

Anything of his that I travel with - leashes, water bowls, etc usually ends up in my trunk or in a travel bag I bring with. Nothing exciting.

My car is my set up lol.

I love my car, its sooo perfect. This is a picture from when I got it.

Its been the prefect size for shlepping people and dogs as well has horse equipment and food. However its still small enough to get great gas mileage.

YOU CAN STILL POST A PICTURE OF JAX IN HIS SEAT AND A GEAR BAG.

I know that feeling. Cleaned my car out today because I'm doing a re-haul and taking out seats and rearranging crates for more room, and found a few items I didn't even know I had (slip lead, clicker, ball, beer) in there... it is always an explosion.

My car is my set up lol.

Wow, that looks awesome! Kia Soul?

My current set up! I have this photo handy because it made me laugh. I originally had the wire kennel (for Dodger) on the right, and the crate on the left (for Dex). I switched them because I wanted the larger kennel behind the 2nd row seat. Poor Dodger just couldn't figure out why his kennel was so tiny :( I had to pull him out because he was certain it was the right spot, just.... tiny. Finally convinced him to go into the correct kennel on the left LOL.

The van came from another dog person, so it already had a custom built platform for the back to put the kennels on, as well as a custom fitted rubber mat for the area between the driver's seat and the kennels. My SO and sister often come with me places, so I did have to put one of the 2nd row seats back in. Still tons of space for gear!

Behind the kennels I keep their pop up crates for dog events, discs, extra leashes, my rain gear, more towels/blankets, a sun shade, some tennis balls and a chuck it, and dog treats. I have an x-pen next to the kennels, as well as a vent lock, extra clips/caribeaners/zip ties/clamps/etc.

We also have some sweet decals on the back! The van is also logo'd for work, so I covered that bit up.

My guys passed out hard after a show. Very high tech.

It's a small car but it's managed to transport 2 people and 4 dogs across the province without much fuss.

The exterior is unremarkable. It's just a white car with one large fuschia paw print on the trunk hatch.

We have no setup lol the whole car belongs to the dogs. :p I can't fit crates/don't really want my dogs crated in the car, so none of those. Basically in back there is a bed and blanket but I only banish them there when they're super dirty. There's a box of toys back there, a bag of food for training treats, my super long flirt pole is oddly bent and threatens to poke passengers in the eye... good times.

Front passenger seat usually holds my Discs/other toys. That's where the dogs sit. ;)

I can get a picture of my mess after work lol.

I open door and dog jumps in lol! I drive a 05 explorer xlt or the extended cab f250. Have a beater zx2 but rare the dogs in it.

Not sure what the set up will be when we get #2. Likely will get crates.

Every car has a emergency leash and collar from times I've come across strays. Or maybe that's what I tell myself to make myself feel better about the mess lol!

No computer at the moment so no photos but until two weeks ago my setup was a variocage (Large double). But I sold it so now I am kind of in limbo land...

I have a 14 year old Civic with an old fleece blanket on the back seat, and a tether that is partially chewed through. It's not pretty. Let's just say I bought a glue gun last week to patch some things up before we trade it in.

We just got DH's Accord fitted out with a nice Orvis seat cover and door covers. He thought the door covers were necessary after Watson ripped the fabric off of my Civic's doors. It's actually a pretty nice set up.

I have this lovely waterproof hammock (with sides) for our frequent beach trips.

But the dogs usually ride up front. Ru has a Snoozer console seat so he can still be touching me even though he's not on my lap, I recently made a new cover for it in fuschia and black to match my seat covers.

I also have a water bowl that lives in the car.

Not pictured: Exploded pet store piles of crap, enough hair to reupholster a mid-sized dog.

Not a very exciting set-up:

I did buy the car planning on that set-up. I took the crates to try fitting them when I test drove it. I wanted the car to be able to fully function with the front and back seats, so the crates had to fit in the cargo area (they do, although barely). I also wanted a car where the back seats folded completely flat (they do) so if I have need for a third crate or a bigger crate at some point, I can make it happen.

The dogs ride back there pretty much 100% of the time. Every once in a while, I'll let them ride up front if we are just running to the store or to get coffee, but it's my first ever New New car, and I am actually shocked how much cleaner it is staying with the dogs crated. Plus Meg is actually more comfortable in a crate (Gusto thinks it is torture and that he should be allowed to ride on the center console).

I can shove small stuff (water toys, orange vests, agility leashes) on the sides of the crates. A bowl, gallon of water, and my agility bag stuffed with treats and toys and clickers are on the floor in the middle. In the summers, I keep a big shade cloth there and Ryobi fans as well, so I can set things up easily if the dogs are going to be in the car and it is too warm.

The plan is to get a double Variocage sometime relatively soon - maybe by spring.

Don't really have a set up, the car definitely just belongs to the dogs (and all the random stuff we leave in there...). I have an ancient Subaru Legacy Outback, and even though it's completely falling apart, I LOVE that car. Will always have an Outback. It can hold millions of dogs, gear, get up mountains, and we can sleep in it easily (with the dogs as well usually, ok it gets a little bit squishy...), plus all wheel drive for BC winters.

I usually have the back seats folded down so the dogs have the whole large back area, no crates generally speaking. Onyx always ends up in the front seat (or on my lap) if given half a chance.

Toys and leashes may be scattered everywhere. I always swear someday I'm going to keep the car organized. Hasn't happened yet. So no pictures!

Our setup consists of a hatchback with the rear seat(s) folded down and a blanket thrown over the exposed upholstery. Super awesome. LOL

As slightly seen here:

It's actually proven to be very useful, because the dogs have much more usable room and if we don't have the car crammed full of luggage/boxes, we could even have someone ride in the back with the dogs and not be sharing a seat with them.

We have decided, though, that when Small Human comes along, we're likely going to need to upgrade to a Minivan/Crossover type dealeo or get the car outfitted with a luggage rack/mini trailer for long trips. Small Human stuff + dog stuff will not all fit. We could make it work, but Cynder would probably have to ride up front in someone's lap.

I am 100% spoiled and drive a company van (E250) that is outfitted with seven ruff tuff kennels that are completely bolted in. So much space, it's insane. I'll get photos tomorrow.

My vehicle before that was a scion xb, and I still use that for a lot of road trips because the gas is better. My husband built a platform to secure crates to, we can fit three crates in it.

Edited thread - no disc dog types with your fancy vans and ruff ruff kennels. I might die of jealousy. ;)

(I'm kidding of course. I need to see them all.)

No picture, but right now I have a lot of leashes and harnesses floating around and treats in my glovebox. Also, a Chuckit and about four tennis balls.

I want to add one wire crate that will be folded down most of the time, since I tend to find ALL THE LOOSE DOGS and need a way to transport them away from danger without risking my own dogs. Also, Bloo is really unsafe to drive with.

I would also like to add a dog and human emergency kit, as well as a more organized box o' dog gear.

Seat covers would also be a lovely addition. LABS. :|

ETA: I have an '07 Chevy Equinox. Looove it.
