Why do so many of you not allow your dogs in the bathroom?
Our dogs don't show much interest in even going in the bathroom unless they're following us in, but we had to put toddler locks on all our garbage-containing cabinets in our house because the cats can open them. If we didn't, we probably wouldn't let the dogs in the bathrooms, either, just because of the garbage.

The hounds have free run of the first floor when I'm home, everyone but Liz is crated when I'm away. Liz, also, does not believe that rules apply to her and will vault the baby gate to upstairs to sleep if she so desires. At night everyone but the foster puppy sleep upstairs.

Gizzy the corgi and tawny the husky have to be separated at all times so they were just on opposite ends of the house separated by a gate. The other two can go everywhere except the cat room which is blocked off by a baby gate(yes they have their own bed room and I am not a cat lady I just have to many extra rooms)

But we are getting new furniture today and now closing off the den to all cats and dogs:eek: Have not broken it to them yet:cool: Our last couch lasted two days without a hole in it:eek:

I have a feeling it will be a week and the dogs will be in there lounging on the couch though!!!!

My byron freaks if I lock him out of the bathroom. But if blitz our cattle dog can get into the bathroom he is a terrible toilet drinker. Thankfully our only one.

Suzie isn't allowed in the kitchen if any humans are in there, because she gets in our way. Its a little slack, mostly we just tell her to get out when she tries to come in.

Oh, and she's technically not allowed in the bedrooms, but I let her break that rule when no one else is around, mainly my sister. For some reason she doesn't like Suzie...

ETA: The bathroom is the scary watery hole that Suzie doesn't want to have anything to do with it.

They're allowed everywhere.

There are rooms that they shouldn't go in, but as long as they don't cause trouble I'm not going to worry about making them off-limits.

Everywhere. I discourage her going in my housemates room, and she respects that.

Everywhere downstairs but the kitchen and the bathroom and upstairs if we are up there only. Except for Walker he has free roam whenever/whereever and sleeps in Bevs bed.

No bathroom because i have two toilet drinkers and one who likes diapers of any kind clean or dirty.

No upstairs for sci and layla without supervision because they think its a bathroom.

He is allowed everywhere except in the closest where the cat litter is but it isn't blocked off. He has just picked up on the fact that when he tries he gets told off so he doesn't bother anymore.
