Ronin in the desert

We went hiking with my dad through the Red Cliffs Desert Preserve. This was the third time with him off leash (in an enclosed area) and each time he would gallop back to me when I called his name and knelt.

I still really want the Astro 220+collar but in the meantime I'm going to get a bell. He did take off after two jack rabbits but after he lost the scent (and almost getting one) he came running back. Sometimes he was out of view and a bell would let me know where he was for quite some distance.

beautiful pictures--beautiful dog. I grew up with an English Setter--and the neighbor had an Irish setter--loved those dogs--this makes me so nostalgic! I think Ronin is the only Irish setter on the board!

It is so beautiful here! I don't EVER want to move. Although Ronin isn't a huge fan of the heat and wouldn't mind at all.

He is lovely! Spaniels of all kind hold a special place in my heart, and seeing them run free in a field is wonderful
