For those of you who buy your raw from butchers, how did you go about finding them? Did any of them already have prices set for RMBs, recreational bones, or ground meat/ground organs? Or did you work with them to figure it out?

Also, what's the best deal you've ever gotten?

I know that "my" butcher (the place that we use for us, have for the last 20 years, and that is a minute walk from my house) has liver/heart/kidney in the back, for people who ask for their dogs. They have them in 1lb bags, and it is like $1.50 a bag or something like that.

Not sure about bones and other meats.

I am going through this one at the moment, the butchers I have looked at so far already have set prices for things like liver/heart/bone meal/etc and they are fair priced, sometimes on the expensive side...

For me, the butchers in my area are either NOT actual butchers (as in the meat comes in mostly cleaned), or they already have raw feeders (often themselves) so they don't sell the "scraps". I just use a poultry wholesaler. I'm trying to find the same for other meat sources, since the raw feeding co-ops are still too expensive for my liking.

But currently I get 40 pounds of chicken backs for $10. I'm not complaining.

Similar. I'm in a medium sized city. The butchers here aren't butchering full animals either. I have to hit the raw coop lady, or I need to go to actual butchers in the country.

I got to the actual butchers. Where they are killing, and processing the animals there. There are quite a few in my area as I live in farm country lol.
