My poodle pup is always hungry :(

He never seem to be full at all, He is now eating mix of royal canin junior and pro plan both for small breed puppies, he eats more than 1 cup a day.
And he is a little more than 2 pounds.

I leave the bags of food on a table where he can't reach and he constantly goes and begs for more food.

In some articles in mags and the internet they say the dog is in the ideal weight when you can feel the ribs and a small cape of fat, that is how his ribs fells.

Some dogs are just always hungry, even if they are at their ideal weight. Keep in mind that a puppy is going to eat more than recommended for its weight since puppies are still growing.

At this age you should also be feeding him 3-4 times a day. Feeding him more often will probably help him feel more full. I don't know how often you're feeding, though, you might already be doing this.

But yeah, some dogs just always seem hungry. That's good, though, food motivated dogs are very easy to train!

Rylie is always hungry too, they are growing. If your pup was on raw I would say follow your gut and feed what keeps them healthy. I have no advice for kibble.

Finn used to devour everything I put in front of him at any given time, and eye the food bag for more... and I was feeding him more than the bag directed, since he was so high-energy.

Now, I still feed him a bit more than suggested, plus some raw supplemented (I don't tend to give him less kibble on raw days, he seems to work all of it off anyway) and I find that aside from the raw, which is a treat to him, he could almost be free-fed. His food is in his bowl and he picks at it when he's hungry. Usually it's all gone by the end of the day, but he doesn't ravenously go at it like he used to.

IME, puppies tend to be much more into their food, assumedly because they've got growing bodies to feed! :)

I hope he can calm down his hunger as he grows.

Today my mom catched him eating a newspaper, hours later he vomited and was eating it very happy, yuck

Um....maybe try giving him a better quality food. One that has more bioavailable nutrition to him. He might always be hungry because the kibble that you are giving him is just mediocre in quality and ingredients and he really isn't absorbing much of what he eats.

Look into a higher quality food like Orijen or Acana. I no longer suggest the Natura products because of the recent P&G buy out and not knowing what the future holds for that food.

Babydane, those foods are not available where Sapphire lives. :(

Maybe you could try supplementing his kibble with healthy, filling fresh foods? A veggie puree, green beans, cottage cheese/goats millk/goats cheese/feta, over-ripe fruit, kelp, plain yogurt, healthy canned dog food, fresh or canned meats, canned tuna & salmon & sardines... those will help to fill him up and it's all healthy for him. If you don't already, soak the kibble in warm water for a few minutes before you feed him.

Yes BabyDane, we don't have those foods here, if I had the option I would choose one of the better brands. :)

I stared to supplement his kibble, I stared adding a bit of raw last week.

I gave him Chicken breast, he is doing fine.

I'm going to try with the other things you said, thanks.
