Puggles are cute as puppies but I don't think they are very cute as adults. :(

Not that they should be bred period, what's wrong with a nice pug or beagle???

I think they're cute puppies... shoot all puppies are adorable... but have you ever seen an adult one? How about an adult abandoned one: bought on impulse, a combination of the 'bad' characteristics of both breeds, in a kill pound and no one thinks its cute...

:(
not too cute of a picture now, huh?

Wow, I think your post has been the most educated and profound!

Nothing at all.. it's the mixing of the two to create a "puggle" when it's simply a beagle/pug mutt. :)

Sorry just DO NOT like the look of them.

Pugs are ok, beagles are ok, but puggles, YICK.

Of course as puppies they are cute, ALL puppies are sweet, but as adults, I do not find them attractive at all.

brem - Why do you want a "designer dog" that's butt ugly as an adult and can be prone to both breeds health and temperament problems? If you want a mixed breed pug and beagle, fine. But puggles are a bunch of B.S. IMO

Is this adult ugly?

Does it really matter?

You obviously think they are adorable and want to encourage BYB's by wanting one.

I hope you do plenty of research.

hate to say it Lizzie, but u just got ripped!!!

actually i dont really like the look of tht dog at all,

i can see we are going to get into the designer dog argument again, due to someone who refuses to accept the facts, and doesnt realise the extent of dog overpopulation.

dont mind me

No. My side is pretty sensible. :p

But I'm not one to fight.

All I'm saying is that Puggles look adorable, and contrary to pugs, do not suffer from sa too tight airway.

That being said, am I evil when I say this could eventually become a breed?

Why is everybody so uptight about it?

Half the breeds would not exist if it weren't for crossbreeding. So please, give ME a break.

That being said. End of discussion on my part.

:)

Have a nice day.

None of you have given him any facts....Every single one of you has said nothing about them, except for how ugly they are.....Give him some feedback and some info not everyone yelling "OMG here we go, lets have popcorn....and OMG how ugly...I mean come on people

sticking up for them, cuz their cute isnt a sensible argument

how do you know the puppies arent gonna come out with the pug nose?

That being said, am I evil when I say this could eventually become a breed?
no but its highly unlikely they will ever be a breed

Why is everybody so uptight about it?
we understand the BYB and puppymill problem and because we are so passionate about dogs, dont want to see people breeding dogs for no reason, especially mixes

Half the breeds would not exist if it weren't for crossbreeding. So please, give ME a break.
all the breeds were created over hundreds of years, and are NOT a cross between TWO breeds, but a cross between HUNDREDS of different dogs, to get the breeds we have now.

Sorry brem, it looks like people assumed you knew about puggles and designer breeds.

And to the other posters: a lot of people on this forum already think that Chazzers hate mutts. Going on about how incredibly ugly a mix is certainly doesn't help that image. Neither does going on about how awful puggles are without explaining why we don't like puggle breeders.

The reason that most people on this board do not like puggle breeders is this: puggles were a mix created specifically for money. Almost every single puggle breeder is in it entirely for the money....they do no health checks on breeding dogs, offer no guarantees, don't do home screening, etc. They just produce these crossbreed dogs, give them a cutesy name and sell them for insane prices. They are in it strictly for the money, so they try to produce as many puggles as possible and sell them as high as they can. Glorified puppy mills.

And puggles are not a breed. Almost all puggles are a first-generation cross between a pug and beagle....they don't come from a mommy and daddy puggle. There is no breed standard; even pups from the same litter can vary wildly in appearance.

That's why we don't like puggle breeders. It's nothing personal against the puggles themselves: they can't help where they came from. And there is nothing wrong with wanting one. But if you want a pug/beagle mix, look for one at the humane society. Don't even consider buying one from those people who breed them.

It makes no difference whether they are cute or not. It is not even that people are mixing breeds exactly. It is HOW they are doing it. It is fine to like them or hate them, the specific mixed breeds individually I mean. And yes, all breeds started this way but not under the same circumstances. They didn't hapen because there was a high demand for them and they can be sold for a fortune and make the breeder rich. If there weren't like 100 different designer mutt breeds then that would even be a whole different story. But the fact that people are not doing the proper health certifications and just breeding them continuously for huge profit, THAT is where the problem comes in. So everyone needs to back off and quit being so judgemental when one person comes on and says they think they are cute. If you get one, do your research.

Would everyone have the same reaction if the OP came on here and said:

"Guys look! I was at the pound today and there was this totally adorable mutt. They had it listed as a Pug and Beagle mix or something but who cares, it is adorable! I think I am going to get it!"

We would all be praising this person. He never said he was going to go out and buy one for $1300 from the lady down the street who sells a whole bunch of different breeds and she always has litters available. If he had then that would be a who other story. Not that it would give anyone the right to jump on this person, but still. Calm down people.

If this persdon just said that to rile us up then shame on me for falling for it, but just tell people what the problem is instead of bashing them for it. It just makes people more mad and they will leave and go buy their overpriced designer mutt from a pet shop and support BYBs and mills.

BTW I am never one to actually stand up and defend someone who is in support of this. I am completely against the breeding of these dogs only because so very few people do it CORRECTLY and ETHICALLY. If the ways changed magically all of a sudden then I would perhaps change my views say in like 50 years from now if they actually do become a breed.

And that is why we do not like designer BREEDERS. Which everyone failed to explain to you before they bashed youl.
