Sunday, we're having a Memorial Day get-together at my parent's house. We always do it on Sunday instead of Monday. That way, we can have fun until late at night.
We're not barbecuing. We've barbecued almost every weekend for the past two months, and we wanted something different. Instead, we're firing up the propane burners outside and doing an outdoor fry-up. And as is usual for my family, we're cooking both American and Asian food. Beer battered chicken tenders, tempura vegetables and seafood, seaweed salad, Thai squid salad, mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, and rice. I'm sure there will be a few more things---we kinda throw them together as we think of them.
And of course, beer. Beer is good.
Monday, I'm going to go to one of the remembrance services around town. The local VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) Chapter is going to have one at our city's Vietnam memorial. I'm probably going to go to that one.
