If you could pick a state/city to go live in for 6 months, what would it be? Like a trial state!

Influenced by the recent moving threads and the fact that the students in my program get sent all over the US for their internships.

So if you could live anywhere for 6 months, where would it be?

(Also, the absolute best place to get into for my program's internship is in Ohio. It is essentially what everyone in the program strives for, it is a huge deal to get accepted for internship there. But...Ohio... lol. The second best lab is in Iowa, I believe.)

Ooooh fun question. Either somewhere north (like Montana, or North Dakota, or MINNESOTA) or East Coast. Probably East Coast because I've never been there and there seem to be more dog related things easily available.

Haha, well if it wasn't for the concentration of Chazzers there I would never have considered it. It does sound pretty awesome though.

Speaking of Chazzers moving to different places, WHEN ARE YOU COMING TO VISIT CO. I distinctly recall promises of trips and small terrier cuddles.

ETA: My angry face got messed up! Angry, not sad! (Maybe a little sad.)

As for me, I would love to try out any of the following:

Denver, CO
Seattle, WA
Portland, OR
Maine...somewhere on the coast?

Or since my internship starts in January, maybe somewhere warm!

Uh...yeah.

(Whether I will actually leave the Cities is mostly based on 1. Whether Ryan will follow me, since he has a career here 2. What would be the best move for my career/what would look awesome on my resume. Mainly 1.)

It is fun to think about though :D

Ryan and I have talked about it, A LOT! And I really really really want to. REALLY. We should set a date, so that I have to figure it out and commit to going.

If I didn't have the dogs/horse - New York City. I can't imagine wanting to live there forever, but I'd love to for a short period to really soak it in.

Northern California is the other place I'd love to try, but I've never even been there, so I may be just basing that off movies and TV :p

YES. We have a trip planned the third week of July (7/14 I think) but other than that we are very flexible. And we have a spare room and I will even clean out all the random boxes that keep breeding in there. That's what a good host I am.

I need to see when my breaks are from school! The next one is in...April? But I am taking time off in May for the Chaz meetup, so I don't know if they'd let me miss another Saturday :/

ETA: I have off from August 21st to Sept 3. Anytime in there work for you?

When is the next time you'll be in PA? I briefly recall you saying you were coming again soon-ish, but not so sure. And was it anywhere near Gettysburg? Jackson and I would love to meet Siri (oh, and I guess you too :p) and we go to Gettysburg every summer, but it's not terribly far.

What is wrong with ohio lol!

I think I am the only person who loves it and never wants to leave! I don't even feel the need to leave the state for vacation.

There is a ton to do in cleveland and Columbus and we have great parks. Personally I love the cornfields and fields of cows but I'm weird.

It's either Columbus or Cleveland....I can't remember.
COLUMBUS@!!!!

To answer your question, I have no idea. I would love to do VA, NC, KY, CO, NM, OR, WA, northern CA. I really do want to and extended visit in Seattle, Portland, Albuquerque, Denver, Louisville. And I always love Columbus

I'd love to live in the Tetons for a while.

Or maybe colorado. Still mountains but maybe Colorado instead of Wyoming.

Either way somewhere not hot.

I really, really want to say NYC. I probably would if given the chance. I love it, and I'd really like to be there long enough to really explore parts of it at leisure and just enjoy it. I'm going back there for a few days in April, but 6 months would be incredible.

Just the same, the recent conversations have me thinking how much I'd like to see San Francisco. I've become very interested in it the past 6 months or so...

I would do Arizona in the winter (Tucson, Flagstaff, or Bullhead) and maaaaybe...Colorado in the summer. Yup. I would never actually want to live in Colorado long term though, I can't do winter. I could do that on a permanent rotation.

Pretty much any warm state would work for me, minus Georgia. And Alabama.
Baton Rouge
Raleigh
Austin/Dallas
Albuquerque
etc etc :)
