Thought you'd enjoy this. He was playing with a stuffie and did NOT want to give it up!

Put a smile on my face. I wish her all the luck in the world but I don't think she is going to need it a bit. what a cutie.

Aw well Copper is 4, his owner was quite arthritic and could no longer do anything for him. She can barely get herself around. She had to limp down the steps to tether him outside, and didn't want to do that anymore, walks are a thing long-past to them. She was broken hearted but I had to agree it was probably for the best she give him up :(

Adopt a Pet :: Copper - Prosser, WA - Dachshund <his adoptapet page.

It's hell getting "cute" pics of him because he's very non-traditional Dachshund appearing...??

Well the 1st pics I took, he had tears just running down his little face and looked absolutely horrible.
The one pic makes him almost look "normal". He's such a love, such a character, I hope someone can see the jewel underneath the *cough* errr...interesting exterior...!

Yeah like most breeds they've wrecked the Dachshund, too - Copper's quite rotund and could lose a few no problem.
But for instance, I saw a little "miniature" Dachshund at the vet one day, she'd had major back issues, but she was so short bodied, and fat. She was overweight, of course.
We only give our Doxies 1/2 c. food a day to maintain their slim physiques, and I think most owners would think they are starving the dog to death if they didn't give at least 1c. a day.
