Nice people my @ss.. I finally got a confirmation. I was looking for details off it, not what my dog was running, as I was smart enough to find that on the site..
I got a snotty reply that the confirmations were sent the first two weeks of april and available online seemingly making this a hardship for her to answer my d@mn email. And how was I supposed to know they were sent till it was on the bark list..
They claim they couldn't read my email, so my fault. I'm so not getting a friendly regionals vibe so far.
MP, take a deep breath and try to remember that the TORCH people are probably under a whole bunch of stress themselves at this time and running around trying to get everything ready..........the e mail probably wasn't meant to be rude, but blunt and to the point.
Pack LOTS, if your staying in a motel, remember to bring multiple changes in clothes for either hot weather or cold and very wet conditions along with at least two pairs of shoes to the trial site. Rain gear too, plus extra towels to dry or keep warm for your dog, I also take a small blanket to wrap ours up in.
Hey there are different ways to handle 270's, one is doing a FC before the second jump (not ideal) and doing it after the second jump, but remember to support your dog during it or just keep your dog on the same side without the FC but support her line between the jumps. I always tell my students to pretend that its a wonky pinwheel with a (visualize the jump) jump in the middle. (if that makes sense in text). One thing about 270's is the handler can't hang back, keep driving forward so that the dogs momentum carries them forward, so IF there is a 270 drive it like you own it.........
HA HA, thanks Petie is awesome, he can be brillant if his handler is on the ball !!! lol My problem is my dog is typically moving faster than I can think :yikes:
And stop thinking about those courses as Masters and scaring yourself. When you get your course maps, break them down into 3-4 obstacle sequences then the course wont seem as scary.
Yep the gambles CAN be tough, but having said that if you don't get it the Main............your then in the Majority not the minority. So your in good company.
Look you are more than welcome if your not doing anything in the next week, come play on my agility field at anytime, free of charge with the exception of bring me a Large Double Double Coffee from Timmies
If you think it will make you feel better, come on down, relax and play, my ring is fully fenced and about half my equipment is here.
I can easily pull out past Regional course maps, you can check them out, we can set it up and let you fly, not a problem, sometimes just chatting about options on those kinds of courses is a help.
And remember EVERYONE going will have strengths and weakness, WORK TOWARDS YOUR STRENGTHS AND TRY TO RELAX, you and your girl are going to be fine.
Scrambling around now and worrying about your weakness isn't going to do you or your dog any good.
