Groovy site!!I love sites like those. I could browse around there forever. I like the blue and green room the best.

Im all about redecorating my house... someday!! Hopefully this summer I can get around too painting my ugly brown wood paneling to white and putting down wood floors.

Pretty colors! I had terra cotta colored tile on my kitchen/dining room floor and while it looked great when it was freshly cleaned I did find that absolutely everything showed up on it very quickly. It was too dark and what wouldn't have shown up so easily on a lighter color showed up quite plainly. The pitter patter of all those paws even when they were dry, just dusty from being outside, would be very evident.:)

I don't know how large your rooms are, but just remember that dark colors will make a small room seem smaller. But the darker ones are my favorite, lol! You can use them to accent in a small room and get some great looks.

Tiles a funny thing...Got to know what colors work best to cover up dirt and dust! LOL
Neutral colors are best..Then you pick out a grout color that is closest to the color of the dirt in your yard within reason.
Keep it clean and when you really scrub your grout make sure you get it as clean as possible then put on more sealer. Just a pointer.

Anyways I dont care for orange colors...Guess its the whole growing up in the 80's thing. Blues and greens are good!
With some good accents the orange or terracatta colors look rich.
Have fun and play around a bit.

I LOOOOOVE the terracotta color! :)

To the blue...I picked out a blue similar to that one and on the wall it pretty much looked really violet for some reason...just be sure to check the color under the "daylight" thing they have at the store...but I like the blue, too :)

I painted my smallest bedroom a warm coral color and it looks awesome!!! It really warmed up the room without making it look small. I love the dark orange on the bottom to.:D

Love the colors, however, I was thinking about the dark Terracotta also. You would need a big window where the sun could shine in. In a small place without much light I would think it would be too 'boxed in'.

I'll amit, I'm not a big fan of the color blue for wall paint. I don't know, I think it would really need to be a unique blue to not look cheapy to me. lol (weird quirk I guess) I like the Pale Avocado in that same color scheme. Much more versitile in terms of bedding patterns, and it seems more soothing for a bedroom feel.

Also buy more paint than you think you will use. Often with paints that are mixed dont come out the same every time. This way you have extra to take back to the paint area to do a exact match. This way when you need to repaint or need to do touch ups you have a better match. Trust me you want to do this!

Very true....I always buy a tinted primer...it's a lot cheaper than the actual color and helps a lot!

lol you guys are all over the place. :p I love it though. Lots of things to think about.

Who knows anything about changing the colour on the outside of the house? Because ours is BLAH and looks BLAH. But my dad always told me that it justs costs tooo much money to paint the outside siding because it doesn't last. True?

What kind of siding?
That old wide masonite stuff
Wood
Or Vinyl, or something different?

I don't think I would paint vinyl. It would likely peel off. But you could rent a pressure washer and clean it. Then touch up around windows and doors etc.
That would probably make it look new.

I think there is also aluminum siding, looks somewhat like vinyl but is aluminum.
My neighbors painted theirs with some kind of special paint and it still looks okay after about 2 years. But not sure if that would hold up for the long haul.

We have wood siding (the original old kind). We painted it with a sprayer about 2 years ago. It still looks great.
Hubby thought he was good, so he didn't mask the windows..............so there is overspray. I told him before we sell the house, he can scrape it with a razor blade. :D

Blue is nice for the bedroom, but I do have a very important question. Do you think you'll repaint that room anytime soon? Blue is beautiful, but it is a real b**** to cover when it's time to repaint. No matter how light the shade, blue just seems to leak through almost everything that covers it.

I one repainted a bedroom that was originally a light sky-blue. I figured no problem. Hah! It took me 3 coats of a special primer that was specially designed to cover "dark" paint. And that's in addition to the two coats of the new color, which was a light tan. It was horrible. That friggin' blue kept showing through everything I tried to put over it.

I really like the terracotta, I love that colour for kitchens.

Ferny green sounds gorgeous, I'm a huge green fan and I think rooms look lovely painted in green.
