The thing is my doctor would tell my insurance that I have a medical condition that requires me to be on the pill so it would actually be covered by our insurance. Before it wasn't covered and we were paying $32 for the pill a month. When we went to the health department when we first got married I got my 3 months of pills, my exam, and some medication and it only cost us like $15.

Try third grade . . .
3rd grade!!!!!!!!! :yikes:

And I thought I was early........ I had mine in the 5th grade.

Monthly things are a love and hate relationship... you hate them when they arrive.. but love them when they dont arrive and leave you guessing.... and then they show up.

I never had cramps until I had kids. Suks........

This reminded me of a girl on our floor in College !! (Small Junior College....no drinking , and smoking only in the " smoker " after study hour.) I won't print her name , but will say she was a Bergman ( of Burkhoff (sp? ) clothiers ) Because of cramps she was allowed to have a bottle in her room ....she had lots of visitors.!!!

You could try evening primrose oil.... I have heard that it can help, I get the awful bent double cramps too, but I find walking helps, takes your mind off it too, even though it can be an effort to motivate yourself to get out at times.

Mirena! That is all I have to say on the cramps subject! LOL!I would get one but it makes no sense as I am on the pill to control a heriditary skin condition.

I haven't had PMS for years! Once, when I messed with my pills to skip a period I had such bad PMS that when I was cooking dinner, I dropped a knife, I sat down in the kitchen and bawled my eyes out! My boyfriend was there and has made me promise to never mess with my pills again!

The difference between a terrorist and a woman with PMS is that you can negotiate with a terrorist! LOL!

I am on the pill for some years and haven't had cramps all that time. I seem to have a lighter flow and sometimes don't even think about the fact I am on a period. I also use internal tampons and it's not as "ugly" as before.

Yeah . . . rub it in, Zoom. The Pill works wonders, but you can't stay on it forever . . . I'd been on it long enough and I finally got the docs convinced that I really DID know for sure that I wanted those tubes cut, tied and fried!

Thats not fair! LOL I am still deciding on what pill to take or what birth controll method will work best. None have helped and one has actually harmed.

Birth control pills.

I used to miss almost one day of school a month since 6th grade cuz my cramps were so bad nothing would help. Now with the pill if I get cramps they will usually go away after a couple naproxen. But I don't have them too often anymore.

But I heard that naproxen sodium was better for cramps than ibprofen. my doc gave me a perscription of 500mg ones, but I gave them to my sis for her knee cuz I can't swallow pills that big.

That can set you up for all sorts of problems . . . although a partial isn't as potentially harmful as a complete. Some women breeze through either without a care in the world, and others have all sorts of things crop up, like early onset arthritis . . .

I Didnt realize a partial could give me potential problems.
Hmm Need to rethink things.
I was suffering from some type of arthritis or something but it has gone away. I believe it was stress induced but thats just me.

There is a forum somewhere for women who had hysterectomies... You might want to look it up. I know someone who did and so far she doesn't seem to suffer from it.

But yeah, I've considered it too, and I'm 28  Not like I'm likely to have kids anyway as my husband's sperm is horrible, I guess I want to stick to that 2% chance we have every month, lol. And who knows where I will be in 15 years anyway.

But yeah, I hear you about horrible cramps. Mine started at 10 (what grade is that anyway?). Ibuprofen works when I take 800g of it... usually. Renee I'll definitely try the red wine next time :D

About the pill, that thing makes me sick, which is not helping... I wish I could take it.

MomOf7: The forum for those who have had historectomies is 'hister sisters' or something like that (DON'T ASK)

Fran: I'm no expert, but you may just want to keep all your parts for a while yet. Hormone replacement therapy isn't really a 'better' alternative to the real thing unless there's medical reasons for your consideration.

That said, unberable cramps is something that you may just want to pay close attention to. Endometreosis (sp) is often overlooked or passed off as 'really bad cramps'. If you're concerned about how bad it is, ask your doctor about it and do some reading. (Just my token bit of male advice)
