Zaphod and my dad had 2 positive interactions today, both involving dad offering food to the pooch. I thought this morning was going to be disastrous when dad walked outside and zaphod went nuts, but dad had had enough and walked right up to the crate. Zaphod shut up, dad handed him a biscuit through the bars and Zap didn't bark again. I think dad actually WAS a little intimidated by him but I am sooo glad he chose not to show it and just squashed Z's attitude a little bit by walking straight towards him.
On our way back home, dad walked into the garage first and Zaphod didn't bark. Perhaps it's because I closely followed, but it's still a good thing.
I'm having dad offer him food every time he goes through the garage.
We're not home and dry by any means, but it's progress. Dad declined to let me bring Z in the house today, but with a little more time I think he'll cave.
Oh, and in 2 days, Zaphod has gone from 54lbs to 56lbs. Ribs and hip bones are less prominent and I'm feeling a little bit of meat on him now.
He's also learning, slowly, how to play with toys.
