Tynan has not been eating for at least 3 days now. This is very strange as he is the type of dog that always ate all his food. He has eaten a very little amount, not even a full bowls worth all week-end. He is now 9 months old.
Has anyone ever had this happen with a growing pup?

Does he take treats (high value)? Maybe I have bad luck with puppies, I have had several go off their food here and there (even my adults do it). If everything else was still normal (no change in behavior, activity level, normal breathing/pulse, normal drinking, etc.), I learned not to panic, and I have dogs who have contests to see who can finish first. NOT saying I don't recommend vet advice, because I would consult with them, but IME, it's not all that unusual.

Yes he still eats treats and is acting his normal self. I worry because he is still growing and I don't want this to affect his growth.

I don't know what you feed, if it's plain kibble, I would try to mix in canned, yogurt, baby food, etc. . . I like to keep NutriCal on hand too.

Reminds me of when my friend's puppy would not eat when she brought him home (9/10ish weeks?). She tried everything, he just was way too busy doing other things. Vet could not find anything wrong, eventually she just force fed him and thankfully he learned food = good (for my friend's sanity, lol). . . but it was horrible because he was acting like a typical puppy, but would not eat more than 3 pieces of kibble and refused treats.

I'm going to add some yogurt to his food tonight and see if he eats. The yogurt wouldn't upset his stomach more? (if that's what's bothering him, I don't know yet) If still nothing I will make an appointment.

Fingers crossed for you he starts eating again, otherwise I hope the vet will be able to give you answers. . .

None of my dogs have ever had an adverse reaction to plain, organic yogurt.

Make sure his mouth or jaw isn't hurting him. Closely examine his teeth, open his mouth wide, etc. The only time Fozzie didn't eat was when he hurt his jaw... I knew something had to be wrong!

If his poops are fine and he's acting normal, I would personally chalk it up to the heat or just self regulating. What kind of food are you feeding? I would get some cans of Evo 95% meat or something similar and mix that in, with some warm water.

I would still consider a vet trip. Stella 2 yo adopted schnorkie, played normally, chased her butterflies, not lethargic but kept vomitting undigested food. I thought her food Natural Balance was maybe the cause or she had an obstruction. Exploritory surgery found a thickening pyloric valve and vet had to try his best to repair it. Its been a week and we are still eating a chicken liver pate type food.
So you never know there is truly a problem or no problem unless you make that trip to the vet.

Once again, not saying a vet is in order, that's up to the OP since she knows her dog...

But a dog who stops eating his/her normal amount but otherwise acting completely normal is different then a dog vomiting.

And way off topic but I read schnorkle and thought... Why is she feeding a schnorkle (snorkel)? Sorry, carry on ;)

I added some yogurt to his food last night and he ate all of it. Maybe he's just bored with his food?
He is not vomiting or anything, same goof-ball as always.

With adults it's not that big a deal but with puppies it could be. Has his environment changed? New food bowl? Did he recently have a vaccination?

I think you really need to make that appointment.
