Just asking for some general prayers and good thoughts for my girl Renee. We had an unexpected c-section delivery of her puppies today as she somehow managed to get torsion bloat. So far she's recovering well and the 1 week early puppies are doing great. Even still she's still going to need careful care for a few days, and with the puppies so early I am concerned that they stay strong. If anyone wants to see pics of mom and pups, I've created a puppy blog for the puppy buyers at http://wolfhoundpuppies.blogspot.ca/. Feel free to take a peek.

The trials and tribulations of breeding a litter...and having dogs with a deep chest.

Glad that things are going okay so far...

(((Vibes))) for Renee and her babies!

We're thinking of her. The puppies are so beautiful. I'm glad she made it through everything safely.

Thanks guys. Renee is still feeling pretty sore and isn't up and about yet, so she's staying the night at the clinic. The puppies are now home with me. I get the joy of feeding 10 puppies every two hours all night  but at least they are eating. The clinic nipples and bottles just aren't the right size/shape for the puppies, so I've innovated a gauze nipple instead. I'm thinking of trying to find human premie nipples to try on them tomorrow.

I'm still really worried about Renee. Of all my Wolfies she's my favorite :( Cleo's nice, but Renee's special to me - must be from the hours of showing ;) The puppies are also still very small (for Wolfhound puppies) weighing on average between 13 and 16 oz. Normal is around 20-24 oz. Still the fact that they are alive at all this early is amazing.

How is she doing this morning? I'm sending lots of healing vibes to her and also the pups that all are doing well. I know you must be tired from all the feedings and worry. Hugs.

Renee's are tough. And loyal -- she's going to stay with you. I can vouch for that ;)

Her pups will be exemplary survivors!

Sorry for the late update. It was a long night. Feeding the pups took about an hour and 45 minutes, and they needed to be fed every 2 hours... So only about 15 minutes break between feedings  I've had a bit of rest, and will be crashing again for a while shortly (my mom's looking after everyone for now). Renee finally came home today. She's in a lot of pain, and I am trying to avoid pain meds to keep her milk safe for the pups. We did succeed in getting the pups on her a bit, and she's accepting them thank goodness. There's not enough milk for everyone yet, and Renee can barely walk she's so painful. So bottle feeding and extra TLC for Renee.

More detail and pictures posted on the blog. Off to sleep a while now.

Thanks for all the good vibes. It's truly a miracle that everything has gone as well as it has so far.

Soooo tired. Renee is still doing ok, but things are getting rougher for the puppies. While they seemed to be nursing well somehow things didn't go as well during the day today and all of the puppies are dehydrated. They all lost some weight too, which isn't good at all. I've got sub-cutaneous fluids for them now, and antibiotics for those who are particularly weak. Their temperatures are low too, so trying to give them more heat without overheating Renee. Brown's temperature dropped quite low, so he's at the vet's overnight for extra TLC. Yellow and Peach are both really weak at the moment, and not nursing well at all. I'm really worried about them.

(((hugs))) for you, Renee, and the pups. Did the vet talk to you about the possibility of tube feeding any who are struggling with eating? It saved a weak puppy from one recent litter I know of. Lots of positive thoughts and prayers for your family right now.
