u wont believe it guys. im shocked. i dont know if i am in a bad horror movie or if its reality. at the vet were 2 rottweilers at the same time, magnum got stung. they told me he passed away and didnt make it.i got a phone call this morning saying: good morning ma'am i believe we got your rottweilre...so we had a chat with the vet and the other rottie owners and they switched up paperwork!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they have magnum!!!!!!!! i'm going to get him today at lunch. i dont know if i should be happy, or cry or be sad. i feel bad for those people, but they had a german rott as well, about the same age, and picked him up yesterday and found out it wasnt theirs. so it was their dog all along that passed away..i'm speechless and sick to my stomach

OMG!! I'm so happy for you! But at the same time, I'm devastated for the other rott owners. I can't believe the vet was so incompetent! At the very least, I'd find a new vet.

It's crazy. I'm sorry for that couple, but I'm glad Magnum is fine! I hope you won't get into trouble with your 4 pets though.

I'm just hoping they didn't PTS that other dog by mistake, but I suppose they had reasons to. I wouldn't go back to that vet for sure though...

That's crazy. I'm confused. Didn't this happen over a month ago? What a horrible vet. I'll be happy when you actually see them and find out it IS Magnum for sure. I'm confused but I really hope it is your dog. That would be awesome.

Ok. It was Cujo I was thinking of wasn't it? I'm so out of touch. :/

When do you get to pick him up? That will be exciting.

How odd...!

Like mixing babies up at birth.... What a mistake to make!

I'm speechless too! That is too weird. It's been a while since this happened. This is what makes me skeptical. Why would it take that long for the other Rot owners to notice this wasn't their dog? Or did they just pick him up super recently? If this is your dog, that is phenomenally lucky for you. But, don't get your hopes up too high until you see him. This emotional roller coaster is too much as it is. I can't wait to hear what you discover. I can sort of see how the vet could get mixed up if they look very much alike. But, the cages or kennels that they put them in should be marked with their names and owners' names, you'd think. Scary thought. That vet could some day end up putting to sleep the wrong dog if he's that sloppy...or doing the wrong surgery on the wrong dog.

Oh my gosh! I cannot believe a vet could be that incompetant. I am so sorry you had to go thru this. I am happy for you if Magnum is ok. Unbelievable! Deifinately change vets. I would report him.

If you need to talk pm me ok.Cocoa will be scared. You will have mixed feelings. It is normal in this weird circumstance.I would likely sue that vet too.I am sure the owners of the dead dog are quite up set too.Switch vets immediatly and report him asap.I am here for you if you need me ok.

I am so sorry, what a traumatic experience. Hope Magnum is ok. I am sure he is confused also. I hope everything and everybody can get back to normal eventually. I'm sure you have a lot of mixed feelings to work out. I feel for you. It has to be tough.
I not sure how I would feel myself. I can't even imagine what you are going thru. My thoughts are with you and your family.

Holy crap! That's like every owners best dream slash worst nightmare put together. I'm glad Magnum is still alive, but I had the same question as Doberluv, how could it take the other owners this long to realize it's not their dog? Good luck with the readjustment!

Wow, I'm pretty much speechless. All the suffering you went through and now the other dog's owners will have. What a horrible mix up!
