Well remember my older thread about my mom being unshure to let me have a dog?

Well the good news is that she and all my family agree to have a dog in the house afther 5 years of not having one.

But it has to be a small or a medium dog, I alredy have some breeds on my mind.

So I called to the canine asociation here to just find a big disappoinment......

They are only siberian husky and rottwailer breeders here, dogs that I could never have (mostly the huskies)

The thing is that for most all of the people here think a pedigree is just a paper neded for entering your dog to a show, and a dog whit pedigree is just a whim.

The dogs at the shows are inported purshased from petshops or breeders from onother contry.

You can notice seeing the quality, most of them are "pet" quality, like
irish terries whit pricked ears or poor brushing.

So where all the others non show dogs are from?? from ocationals BYB that think pedigrees are useless and breed because they have the pair, or "the dog is going to die or get sick if they don't have a litter"

Sometimes the persons that have a pair of show dogs sell puppies but they aren't breeders but at least the puppies have pedigree.

In short if you have a pedigree dog is a luxary (no matter the quality of the dog)

My bummer is big, I don't know what to do.

Also if someone was thinking, sorry but they aren't shelther here also

What about adopting one of the strays pictured in your other thread? Those poor dogs really need a friend, especially with there not being any animal shelters in your area. Poor dogs. :(

If I were you I would just pic any of the strays that you take a liking to. Pedigree means nothing if your not going to show and breed and since this will be basically your first dog why not go with a stray? You have years ahead of you to find the right purebred and show etc.

look at classified adds and look at people who are selling oops litters and strays. some may not be pedigree but some mixs are healthyer and better temperament then some pedigrees any way.

try not to set your standarts too high lol.
i wanted a pure breed black german sheperd but i have an akita x husky x gsd and even though he isnt what i really wanted he is perfect for me. just the right size as well and gorguoes. he was a rescue as well lol.

hope you find your perfect dog.

p.s do a good deed and rescue a puppy on death row from lack of tags on his neck lol

I was looking at pugs, beagles, english cocker, possible shar-pei but now I'm not so shure since they have some agretions problems :/ I have to be more carefull whit a puppy of this breed. ;)

I want More lickely a non hiperactive or nervious dog.

That dosen't need lots of exersice
And learn fast.

I like poodles but a pure breed is extremily rare, also cavaliers and clumber spaniels but I never had seen one in person.

Pugs seem to fit a lot but I'm worried about the hot climate that can reach 32c in hot days of summer. :(

Sometimes in the dog shows breeders from Guatemala and other near countries bring puppies to sell, so there a possibility to, but I have to be carefull there.

Too bad they are so few dog show per year.

are there any nearby towns with shelters? some shelters may even send a dog to you from a fair way away if you can prove it to be a good home

She's in Honduras, I don't think they have shelters.

Sounds like you're in a tough situation. No fun. I hope you can find a great dog soon! I know you've been looking some time.

sometimes breeders are willing to sell non-show quality puppies for less. call some breeders of a dog that you are interested in & see what they have to say.
