I lost a puppy to parvo too. But, it wasn't just parvo. The vet said that he had distemper too, so the parvo vaccination wouldn't have done him any good. I've actually lost two puppies to parvo. It's harder for puppies to get over parvo than older dogs. I really hope yours is ok.

The vet said Chloe is doing really good and that I could bring her home tomorrow. He also complimented on how all the staff just loved Chloe. How she was the sweetest dog in the world. :D
She really is the sweetest dog in the world. I can't wait till she comes home tomorrow.
Lucas can't wait either. He keeps pacing through all the rooms like he is looking for her. He is also picking up his toys (the new ones) and throwing them and then just staring at them like someone is gonna come play with him. ;) It really does seem like he misses her. I bet he will be happy when she comes home.

Yay!!!! I am so happy for you and Chleo and Lucas.

Parvo took one of my bestfriends years ago. Her name was Sheba and she of course was a Sibe I was young and we did'nt know a whole lot about Parvo at the time but were starting to learn. My dad figured it was ok since no one came around our kennels much at all. Well we bought Sheba she was a year old and so fun to be around. About 7 months after she was here she started acting funny. I was 12 and did'nt understand I knew we had got all our dogs vaccines but wasent sure what was going on.

One day I went back to the kennels and she had funny runny stool. i ran to tell my dad and he knew right away it was Parvo she had been fine the week before but it had hit her hard and fast. We moved her as far away from the other dogs as possible with a stake and chain and dog house and straw. i loved this dog and cried knowing it wasent good. My dad called the vet but he wasent going to be there until the next day. My dad said she should be fine the next day. The next morning when i got up I went to her but she was lethargic and making a horrid grinding noise in her throat i could'nt get her to drink or stand. I ran screaming to the house for my dad to call the vet. When our vet got to the house he said he never saw such a case in a long LONG time. I looked at her and saw she wasent Sheba anymore she was a shell a has been in my opinion she was already gone. There was bloody fecal matter all over where she had stayed. We had our vet put her down right there.

The night we had moved her we moved all the other dogs and we handled her with rubber gloves. Our vet checked over the other dogs and we had those who had not been vaccinated yet done so. It was a stressful time i was heart broken but also had to watch for signs in all the other dogs.

Needless to say after that we all took Parvo very seriousely.

Im so glad your girl is doing so good thank god.

:D Glad she's home and on the mend. She probably won't feel like doing much more than cuddling and wandering around the house a bit for a while yet. Don't rush her convalescence or let her get too energetic too quickly! You'll probably have a time keeping her quiet in a few days, lol!

Yes I am very very relieved!!!
It's really nice to have her home. I will try and keep her from getting too energetic for a few day, although she is pretty calm anyways so that shouldn't be a problem. The only thing is trying to keep Lucas from playing with her. He keeps trying to get Chloe to play with him and I have to either go out and play with him while Chloe watches, or just go to the park and run with him to get off some of the energy.
