and I've not twisted it or anything. I'm having some leg pain here and there....anybody ever have anything like that???? I sure don't want to see the doc. it gets better if I keep it up, but as soon as I walk around...swelling. I'm getting miserable. :( I did injure this ankle a few years ago...tore every ligament completely away from the bone, and I wore a brace for months. Since then it has never been quite 'right'.....like, I can't touch the top of my foot or I'll jump to high Heaven. maybe some nerves went haywire...but this swelling is a new one. maybe arthritis?? I already have it in that hip...anyway, wonder if I could just try wrapping it?? I can't stand to sit around. :( just wondered if anyone knew what might help...what might cause it..........and I needed to whine. LOL

have you been sitting a long time in one position? 4 hours or more?

Could it be the heat? Martin (the bf)'s mum always gets bad ankles when she comes to visit due to the heat! Maybe you could try an ice pack? Or alternativley it could be the cold! Try warming it by soaking it in hot water! Water in one state or another is my answer to everything though! :D

lol, smkie...I never sit except when I pop on here for a couple minutes. (that's why I'm miserable with it) I'll try the ice..maybe it is just the heat. It is supposed to be cooler by the weekend..back down to 70's. I'll know then for sure, if it's better that it is this darn heat! :)

I'n not trying to be negative, but maybe you should visit your doctor? It sounds like arthritis to me.

Deb! Hope your ok. You know, it might be a result from your Sat. outing. You must have been on your feet all day in the horrid heat. And since you've had a past injury, it makes pretty sense to me. I broke my kneecap when I was younger and I can tell when its going to rain  Even better than the weather forecasters. (What a cake job that must be 50% cloudy 50% sunny, duhhhh) Keep off your feet for a bit and see if that helps. They may just need a rest.

Hoping your feeling better!!

I agree with elevation and ice. It could very well be your old injury is just going to be sensitive to heat/humidity now. Good luck, hope you're back on 2 feet real soon!!

Debi, I hope it feels better soon; if not, a trip to the doc may be in order to make sure it's nothing serious. Keep us posted.

Well, I think our Debi needs a portable hot tub for her backyard . . . that will take care of that hip AND help her ankle!

SOMEONE from ManWorld needs to make it happen . . . :p

Debi....it could be from sitting.... try moving around more . When I was your age I'd sit and do family store bookwork for 3 to 4 hrs. at home on a stool. My legs would swell 3x their size. Follow other suggestions, but I feel movement is the best. Keep us posted !!! ( I've got " arthur", but swelling doesn't erupt like that )

I have bad ankles that have led to chronic bursitus in both hips, not relavent here, then why did I mention it? Im not sure.

When I am on a jobsite and there is heavy compacting equiptment in use around I cna guantee the next day is going to be painfull to walk on, or as little walking as posible depending on the equiptment used driving can even be very painful.
