I have gotten such a kick out of reading all these posts. What a bunch of characters! Makes me want to meet them all!
(I'm just going to do the two Chis since Toker isn't technically my dog, plus it would just take too long.)
Which one is your friendliest?
Chulita is slightly more outgoing with people that Jose`...both friendly, but Jose`'s a teensy bit held back at first. With dogs, Jose` is a little more interested than Chuli..but not necessarily friendlier. It depends on the dog too. Generally, Chulita, upon meeting a new dog can take 'em or leave 'em.
Which one is the most likely to embarrass you in public?
Jose`...hands down.
Snuggles the best?
Both equal in the snuggle factor. They're both seasoned and experienced snugglers. They know just how to find that special bend or groove on a lap or along side a person lying down. They are usually home alone with me but if my daughter or son is around or even a visitor, they also like to snuggle with novel people too. "Oooooo! A new person. Wonder what his/her lap is like." So, very friendly to visitors.
Be honest. Do you have a favorite?
Honestly...No. I adore them both equally for their own unique personalities...quite different from each other.
Do you have one that you love to hate?
Nope. I love them both with
all I've got.
Sneakiest?
Jose`, hands down.
Best trained?
Neither. LOL.
Worst manners?
They both have pretty decent manners. The only thing they do that's obnoxious is lick, lick, lick on visitors. They stop when I say, "enough," but visitors don't mind their licking. Gotta get around to
licking that problem.
Oldest? Youngest? Biggest? Smallest?
Oldest: Chulita, biggest: Jose`
Has the best sense of humor?
Gosh, that's a toss up. Jose`, I guess comes up with some surprises that just floor me sometimes. He's really very bright and I swear I can see the wheels turning. He's very alert and ready to find something he can show me. But Chuli has some gut splitting antics of her own. They're both very funny and also seem to get a kick out of other people who are funny or silly.
Most likely to succeed?
At what? Now that is the question. LOL.
Most likely to sneak something off your plate when you leave the room?
Jose`, although they're both pretty good about leaving my plate alone. They seem to just "know" that it's mine and if they leave it, they might get some of it later when it's time to do the dishes. (I've sort of conditioned them that way) I can leave the room for a moment or two. But probably if I left the room for a prolonged time, I couldn't trust Jose` if it were on the coffee table. Chuli isn't as food obsessed although if it were on the floor and there for the taking, she might get into it too if it's something good.
Name each of your dogs' most and least favorite thing/activity.
Chulita most favorite: snuggling in front of the fireplace after being outside in the cold or snuggling with me. Any attention is her favorite too.
Least favorite: going outside when it's less than about 30 degrees F. She really doesn't dig the very cold weather or deep snow.
Jose`'s most favorite: playing fetch and snuggling.
Least favorite would be Dremelling his nails. He tolerates it, but is definitely not thrilled about it.
Describe a special quirk for each of your dogs
Jose` howls....I mean he can sing like a wolf. His little mouth gets into an "O" and he points his mouth upward and gets to howling, which usually follows a long string of talkie/growly/warbling sounds. I just never heard of a Chihuahua howling like this. He also loves showing me what toy he has in his mouth by bringing it right close to my face if I'm lying or sitting down and doing the full body strut with his chin down on his puffed up chest. He looks exceedingly, extremely proud. He then proceeds to give me "Eskimo kisses." That's something I'm trying to get on cue and when he has a toy in his mouth, he can't lick me so this little quirk is going to turn into a trick...nose to nose butting upon hearing "Eskimo kiss."
One other quirk of his is that he guards the Dremel from other dogs coming near it if it's on a low table or floor. He growls and won't leave the Dremel's side. He is the least thrilled with getting his nails done of any of the dogs, yet he really values that Dremel. Go figure...
Chulita can do the most amazing contortions when she's playing. She can play fetch with herself by throwing a piece of kibble or other small object across the room and then go get it and do it again. She throws in about 3-4 spins before attacking the object....goes in at an angle, keeping most of her body back a little... with one paw that will reach out to brave it...to test it out. Then goes in for the kill. I can get her to do this by telling her to "get that toy" in a very staccato, pretend angry, bossy voice. It can get her soooo silly. She'll stand there wagging furiously and looking at me, then goes at it, pausing every few seconds to see if anyone is watching her. She loves an audience. If I stop watching, she goes and lies down somewhere and stops playing.
