Oh lord, some of the dog owners in this apartment complex could win the worst owner of the year award, seriously. This women brought this adorable chihuahua mix puppy many months ago name Marley. I meet her walking with him one day and I started up a conversation. She was very nice to me, and the puppy ended up playing with Kai.

Well, fast forward a couple of months, Marley becomes a nuisance. Ever time the dog has an accident in the house, they put the dog out in the balcony for a long time. You can hear him howling with misery! Then, I guess she got tired of walking him, and so she just decided to let him out to do his business on his own, although it was rare. I would see him outside every now and then. Marley had a tendency to follow strangers, and he would follow people into the streets sometimes! Every time I see him out there, I'd scoop him up and bring him back to his owner and tell her. The owner would respond like, '' that darn Marley'' or something like that, and would just close the door.

Well, I guess she got sick of Marley, so she gave him to some people downstairs(she is on the top floor). The people downstairs was worst! They didn't seem to want to have any business with him what so ever. They kept the dog outside most of the day. When I come from school, the dog was always out there. I always picked him up and take him back to his ''home.'' The people there would be like, '' oh, thanks'' as if they didn't even want him back.

The next thing I know, they gave the lady back her dog( surprise, surprise). Few days past and I don't see Marley at all. I thought the worst happen and he finally got hit by a car!:( But then he ended up showing up on my doorstep, wet and soggy(it was raining). I went back to the women to see what was going on and she was very surprise to see Marley. She told me she gave him to someone else in the apartment complex not around where she lived. He apparently got away and made his way back here. She told me that she will take him back but, and I quote,'' Not right now, the dog stinks.''

I just brought Marley back to my house. My mother doesn't mind too much, as long as the dog goes back to whatever he came from later. This situation is just sad! NOBODY seem to want poor Marley. He isn't a bad dog at all, he is actually quite good tempered. He tells you when he want to go potty, he is very loving, I just don't know what gives?!! I have no idea how Marley got away from his newest owner, but I have a bad feeling that they don't care for him either.

He is so adorable and sweet, he doesn't deserve this treatment at all. I so wish I could keep him, but I have no control.

Here is he. Obviously exhausted from his long day.

I think next time I found Marley outside unattended, I'd take him to the shelter. His owners could either pay a fine to reclaim him, or perhaps someone with a bit more compassion could adopt him.

^this. I wouldn't even bring him back to the lady now, just bring him to the shelter.

Keep him or take him to the shelter. He's small and adorable and will get adopted quickly. That lady has shown she doesn't care about him at all.

I so would if I had access to a car, but I don't. My parents would never do it, nor would any of my close friends. I believe the next step for the lady, if the newest owner would not keep him, would be to take him to the humane society near us. With that, he would at least have chance to find a good home. I hate being unable to do anything for him but love him as he is here. He craves for it.

call animal control, tell them you found the dog wandering, remove any collar and tags, tell them you managed to catch the dog, hes very frinedly but you cant keep him and have no way fo getting him to the shelter, if there close someone might be willing to come out and get him.

I wanted to call the animal control, but unfortunately, under my parents rule, I can't. You must pay a twenty dollar fee for them to come get a dog, and my parents aren't welling to pay nor do they want me to get into anyone business. It is a strict ''NO'' for me.

I had to do a lot of persuading to keep Marley in the house for a time, and even then they said okay reluctantly. I am the only person in my family who have a passion for dogs. They only like them. Don't get me wrong, my family loves Kai, but when it comes to other dogs in need, it is a ''forget it.'' Which is why it is very frustrating living in this house.

Can you not take a bus? put him in a purse and take him to the shelter? get a group of friends together to raise the 20 bucks? calla nimal control and explain you are just a child and do not have 20 bucks.

I honestly wouldnt be giving this dog back. even if I personaly had to go behind my parents backs. IMO getting in a little trouble for saving a life is worth it.

i agree with tankstar on this one...
iive been in animal situations similar to this where a firm parental no was given...i always did it anyway...
a litter of orphaned kittens, a dog abandoned on the feilds...a repeat offender stray...

id always end up grounded for a couple of days but it was certainly worth it...

by the time i was 17 it had gotten to the point where id call, "mum found a kitten" or "mum i almost hit this stray puppy" followed by "im going to bring it home and if no-one claims him ill take him to the shelter" she used to say no...but then id sneak them in...so by that point it had gotten to an eye roll and a, "youve got 3 days to find his owner or he goes to the shelter" or "as soon as their weaned"
they still dont like it (though its my bfs issue now lol) but they realized this was my calling..

The humane society nearest to me doesn't take in strays, so I can't pretend that he is one. You must have proof that the dog is your, some sort of identification, which I don't have. Like I said, I wish I could call animal control, but my parents do not want me to not only because of the money, but because they do not wish to get in anyone business(paranoid).

As much as I would love to just disobey my parents, I can't do that. I live under their roof, I obey their rules. Doing something like that would lead to a break of trust and a potential to get me kick out of the house. If I had the '' Oh, you did something wrong, don't ever do it again'' parents I would have done that in a heart beat. But I don't, I live under rather strict rule and can't. They got me obeying like a dog.

What I plan to do is print out info and directions to the humane society and give it to the owner. I really don't want to give Marley back but it isn't my choice.

Marley is still with us due to the fact that the owner was not there when I knocked. The only reason my parents are tolerating Marley now is due to his quiet nature, he really is very easy and isn't demanding at all. However, I can tell there patience is waining.

I feel bad for this poor dog. No one wants him and he is cute and seems to be perfectly sweet. It breaks my heart. Do you have any friends that drive?

I can understand it costing to surrender your own animal..but a found animal? I would call to triple check that. Tell them the dog is just wandering around without care and see what they say. Pass the hat is all i can think besides that.
