When I worked at the ASPCA many years ago, I went in the back and there was a gorgeous, gigantic Harlequin Great Dane in one of the kennels.
I read the kennel card and it said, "Dalmatian. Reason for Relinquishment: Got too big."
Um, well, I guess if you were expecting it to grow into a Dalmatian and it grew into a Great Dane, that would be a bit of a surprise, but how could anyone ever take a dog to the shelter because it was the wrong SIZE??
Or trade one in for some new carpeting, for that matter?
I just don't get it...
