We have a new (temporary) addition!

Bena is a year old shepherd mix (if you have any better guesses as to what she is, feel free to offer them) that I am fostering. Initially she was adopted out (the second time) with her brother/littermate. The person who 'returned' them wanted them to be kept together. After much money spent boarding and (I'm hoping) my insistence that keeping them together was an all around bad idea, they will now be adopted out separately!

Bena has some issues, but it's only been her first day. I've noticed that she has pretty severe separation anxiety and she seems very unsettled. (I'll be asking advice on that later, as well. I'm no trainer, but I would like to do as much as possible to ease her stay here and impress any potential owners.)

She did not know how to go up and down stairs. Eventually she came down for a potty break but I'm not sure she knows what a potty break is either. I took her out and 5 minutes later she peed in the kitchen. Definitely have some things we need to work on!

Anyway, here are the pictures. (These are just "Oh she's here!" pictures. I'll get more/better ones later.) I fell in love with her speckled nose. She's about the same size as Gwen, just a bit bigger. Maybe 40lbs and (I didn't know it was possible) leggier than Gwen. (Luckily she fits fine in Gwen's wire crate.)

Is my computer being dumb, or did you forget the pictures? :p
Well, Jesus Jess, give me a break :p They were on my phone so I had to use Tapatalk to post them.

Also, if anyone has advice for a foster dog (training, behavior management, etc.) advice would be welcome. ;)

Chaz people are such enablers! I like her but I learned a lot about what I want in another dog from Gwen as well as Chaz. I'm sure I'll miss her but there are so many pros for her going to someone else. And she's not what I'm looking for. (If I was)

I thought some ACD (she's pretty spotty and was more so as a pup) but she's pretty slim. Tall, long legs. Her ears and nose though.... so cute. I'm good with mix. Shepherd mix seems closest.

But she is always talking. She makes this Chewbacca noise when you scratch her rear.... She's enthralled by the ferret too! Very sweet, people dog.

Thanks guys :)

Airn, when I was fostering, I found a LOT of trainers would let me drop into their classes with the dog for as long as I had them. Almost all of them did it pro-bono!

She is SO CUTE.

Looking at the face, I keep thinking Sibe. Definitely shepherd, but she resembles a lot of the Sibe x Shepherd mixes I have seen. There is definitely something additional in there though.
