You should never say never about any particular breed :p

I'm suddenly interested in pugs! :D I've never been interested in pugs, but then I met a pug/chihuahua mix puppy (Cutest. Thing. EVER!) and then I met a purebred pug at the dog park who was just a great representation of his breed, he was fit and trim and was probably the most athletic pug I'd ever seen. I had to ask his owner if he was a purebred or mix because he was in such good shape! So now I've been reading about pugs and their temperment and I'm liking them more and more. I think pugs are going on my future breeds wish list.

What breeds have you thought you'd never be interested in, then changed your mind about?

Hahaha pugs are funny dogs, I love looking at them, they're a look don't touch breed for me though. Another is pekes, I honestly think i might get a peek someday, they're so cool, and a shih tzu, of course that is if the magically groom themselves.

Really my surprise breed will be a lab, I used to hate them. I found them boring, common and useless. Boy was I wrong! I love them now, it's taught me to really keep an open mind when it comes to dog breeds, what you see next door isn't always the standard of the breed.

Jack Russell Terriers lol. Used to think they were all hyper ADHD dogs that would bite you in the face. But then i figured out that's just the ones i see around here.

THe only thing I have a problem wth pugs is that they are bred knowing they can have breathing difficulties, eye issues and knowing they can have malformed discs in their spine. If the breeders could show me that with their very careful breeding there were no issues of back, and nasal cavities, then I don't know if I would still or not. My old boss bred labs and none of ours had blindness, or hip issues. It would be a big consideration for me if I was going to invest my time into a dog.

Other than that I think every dog should be taken as an individual, and not blanket statements. I have met more than a hundred labs, and each one was different. Some were great people dogs, some were not, some were slappy happy love me dogs, and one out of a little of happy easy goers was not.

As a kid I never thought I'd own a GSD. Mom and Dad didn't like them, and so I was raised with that impression. Then I met Bella, and well, that theory went to hell. Now I'm worried that after these non-GSDs all I'll ever own is GSDs!

Poodles. I used to make fun of them all the time, but now I'd really love one. I've learned not to judge a dog by its haircut now!

Bichons. :) I didn't think they were good for anything but sitting on old ladies' laps, until I fell in love with my clients' bichon a few years ago. I don't know if it'll be my next dog, but I do think I'll have one one day.

For me, it's Chinese Cresteds. First off, I'm not a little dog person, and, second, I'm not a "girly-girl", so to say. I've met a few CCs that have had the most wonderful, affectionate personality.
