just as the title says. is your dog a licker?

Belle is not really. she will give a kiss now and then but she is a hugger. she likes to nuzzle up into you and be squeezed and cuddled.

Beezer however HATES hugs and only wants to lick you whenever possible. you can't give him any attention without him trying to lick you to death. I am one of those people that do NOT like to have my face licked. I just don't. But he tries to sneak one in whenever possible lol and if he can't lick your face he will lick your arm or whatever he can get to lol

Yes yes YES. Summer is OCD about licking. She will lick for hours on end if you let her. I really discourage her licking because of that.

Daisy likes to lick. She doesn't like being touched much except for the occasional back scratch or tummy rub. Benji likes to kiss and be cuddled. Of course, he prefers to cuddle my mom, mostly. Oh and Benji is INFAMOUS for giving you tongue. ewwww

Opie prefers to cuddle. He doesn't kiss much. Although last week he was giving me some kisses, and I happened to yawn, and he licked me in the mouth. Bleck

Morgan is very much a licker...especially ears and noses. Tyr is also a licker, but he's more of a nudger. Ares and Nyx don't do much licking.

Chevy licks occasionally, Zane and Deputy every once in awhile, and Abby cannot control herself when she is within licking distance. I used to have a cat that would walk up you when you sat down and would lick inside your ears!:yikes:

Gunnar and Bruzer, not so much. An occasional lick on the hand. Daisy, she'll pin you down and wash your face with a tongue that looks like a slice of ham.

Hmmmm...

Shye.. no. Ransom has his moods... mostly wanting to lick you when he's found the most foul thing ever and eaten it before you could get it away from him. GROSS. Azure... YES!... and while insisting a 45 pound dog really DOES fit in your lap. River.... yes yes yes yes YES! OCD licker extraordinaire! His nickname is "the lickinator!"

Yes, my Chihuahuas are lickers, but especially Chulita. She is almost obsessive. If I tell her "enough" and she'll stop but she also licks other things, like furniture, especially leather. Loves leather. LOL.

Toker, when she's glad to see you... (anyone) she gives one or two big, huge swipes with her tongue.

Jose` will give a few licks, like he's trying to really getcha but will also quit when I say, "okay, enough kisses." That "enough" command really comes in handy. hahaha.

These are the only dogs I've had that were big lickers. My Doberman, Lab, the various mix breeds and GSDs weren't too big on licking.

Sierra's a pretty big licker. Not OCD or anything, but she likes giving kisses.

The cutest is if you holler "OW!" because she's hurt you in some way (be it a paw she wasn't gentle with or an accidental tooth to skin), she immediately tries to smother you in kisses to "make up for it". (I know that's not what she's thinking, but it's cute either way).

Nope, neither one are lickers ...........BUT, I have to say I discouraged it from day one for the most part, LOL I've been around dogs who lick non stop and it annoys me........I don't know if I could live with one so I try to nip it in the bud, LOL

It annoys me when they sit and lick at themselves for too long and I will give them the "tut tut" and they stop. Nothing more annoying to me than being woke up at 2am to the "slurp slurp slurp" of a dog in the room licking their bum/privates. Bleck!

Lucy will only lick your fingers if there's food on them. And she absolutely will not lick your face. It's kind of upsetting lol, I enjoy kisses from little dogs more because they don't have giant tongues that drench you in spit.

Juno is kind of on and off. Sometimes it's a fight to get her to stop licking, but it seems that whenever I WANT her to lick me, she just refuses to.

Keely is a Licker.. But she seems to know who Doesnt like to be licked upon meeting them .. Which is weird. She wont lick my mom because my mom hates it but she will lick me.. Especially when I first come home.. She licks me frantically.

casey was a hugger and as kisser.. I could pretty much do whatever I wanted with her and She was okay. She also Liked to hold my hand, Everytime she would sit down in front of me and I would rub her she would paw at me until I gave her my hand to hold. And She would keep it there until I pulled away.
I let casey kiss me even with her terrible, cheap food breath. And her slobberies. ick..

:rofl1: now that is a picture to be seen!!

Both of mine are "intermittent lickers"--lol! Wilson especially --he likes to sit on the top of the sofa, behind my husbands's back--and then he will "sneak" a lick--my husband is bald--so it is quite funny to me when it happens!!

Baxter does not lick people--but he does groom Wilson alot--and I do sometimes have to tell him it's enough!

I do not like getting my face washed by a dog--so I too discourage it for the most part.
