What's wrong with me? I was watching Dogs 101 last night and they were showcasing the Doberman, the Whippet, the Miniature Pinscher, the Irish Setter and the West Highland White Terrier. After watching the Doberman, I thought to myself, "I want another Doberman." (of course, their health issues have made me steer clear of that idea for a while)

Then I watched the Whippet, how he runs and how his anatomy makes him run like lightening... beautiful to see. Then how he can be so relaxed and docile in the house. (I like that) So, then I thought to myself, "Oooooooo I want a Whippet." (of course, hounds have never been my thing....the no off leash rule would drive me nuts)

Then onto the Miniature Pinscher....that adorable and pretty hackney gait they have. Such pretty little terriers...lively and smart. The one on the show was a therapy dog...wonderful. So, then I thought out loud, "Oh! *gasp* I want a Min Pin."

The Irish Setter was beautiful to watch run and that fur! There's hardly anything prettier. But sooooo much energy, I don't think I could keep up with that dog. But I imagined myself walking across a big field, watching this flowing coated beauty having a great time zooming across the tall grass. They are such good natured dogs.

And the little Westie was adorable looking, but also a typical, feisty little worker and probably not that easy to train. (something I look for in a breed)

Does anyone else do this? You admire dogs and think maybe that's the dog for you? :lol-sign: When it comes right down to it and I'm not watching one of those shows, I become more sane and have just one or two breeds that I would consider. But turn on the tv and I'm in love with all of them. :p

Add me to the list. I'm even worse at agility trials. Every dog I see, "Ooh, I want one of those some day!" I think people just ignore me now.

Hahaha!!! That is so funny how we are so attracted to dogs. I think it's in our genes. (And it's a two-way street, no less) :D

I do that, as well. At some point in time, I want to have six dogs again, and live on a beach somewhere with them! I want to have a pit bull or two, a Neapolitan Mastiff, a Doberman, a Dalmatian, a Greyhound, and a Great Dane. :D

Beware of the Min Pin! They're lively little troublemakers, is what they are! ;) I could never have one. My brother Bobby has one, and he's quite patient with little Leo, his girlfriend, on the other hand is insisting on giving him to me. I doubt I'd be nearly was patient as Bobby is with Leo, though. Leo likes to pee on his girlfriend's pillow and poop in her bath tub, and run around the parking lot having a jolly little time playing keep away from her - only when Bobby's not home. He does love Bobby, though. He crawls under the covers and sleeps snuggled up right next to him and his kitten. MinPins need just as much, if not more exercise and stimulation as the larger breeds, and maybe the reason I'm not the biggest fan of them is because the only one I have really interacted with is Leo, and he doesn't even get to go outside more than once a month.

I just love dogs--all kinds! I used to have a very set idea of what I didn't like looks, size, and coat wise but that's all gone out the window as I've gotten to know dogs of different breeds, seen pics of them and heard about them via their owners on dog boards. I've really gained a new appreciation for all dogs in the past few years.

Chis are a good example. I'd never had a good experience with a chi and before I was "into" dogs I would have told you there wasn't a snowball's chance in hell that I'd own one, but the more exposure I got to them via the internet and in RL, I've got to say that chis are definitely now on my "dog bucket list."

Too often for my own good. I want one of each. Insane? Probably. But I can't help it.

I'm a snob. I keep saying, "no more sporting dogs, no herding dogs, no terriers," etc.

But then I meet the Kewlest Dog Evar, and it happens to be from one of those groups...and I want him! For me, unless it's a hound (and a few of the molossers ;)), it's all about the individual.
