Through our lawyers my ex agreed to allow me to sell the rental property we own privately for 2 months, then list it with 1% realty for 2 months and then the ex can list it with whoever he wants. I put up a for sale sign a week ago with the price and pamphlets giving details and put pics on a blog.

Yesterday a couple stopped by on their way to meet with a realtor who was showing them 7 houses. Today they came back and made an offer for the full price of $369,000. The wife loved the house - it is a beautiful home. Conditions are subject to financing which will probably involve an inspection which shouldn't be a problem. Hopefully, all will go well. I am very relieved.

I had to get the ex to come and answer a few questions and he was an idiot. Wasn't the least bit friendly and when I phoned him to ask if he agreed to the possession date he started giving me a hard time about "as long as it doesn't cost me any more money". What an idiot. The purchasers were not impressed.

Keeping my fingers crossed. Feel a little bit closer to getting on with my life away from him.

Thanks guys. Yesterday I was thrilled. Today I'm worried the deal will fall through - ugh. Nothing new happened it's just that crap happens sometimes. So now I've gone from worrying about selling it to worrying about the deal falling through. Since leaving my husband last May I've done nothing but worry about my future and just wish it was all over. We're not wealthy, and I should mention the house has a mortgage of $231,000. so it's not like I'll be walking away with a ton of money. Just tired of being in limbo for so long and unsure of where I'm going to be living.

I hope the deal goes through quickly and I bet you garnered some sympathy points with the purchasers with that phone call.

Fingers crossed that this will be the start of a grand new life!
