I was walking my dogs today and I met a guy and his wife. The guy said to me that Sal was the best looking Boston Terrier he had ever seen. I explained to him that Sal was a American Staffordshire Terrier....he asked me if I was sure. He said he had Boston Terriers when he was a kid and that Sal sure looked like one to him. I said I was sure and just kinda laughed to myself as I walked on. Keep in mind Sal is 18" at the shoulder and 66lbs..... :p

That reminds me of the time I had an argument with this guy about whether my dog was a boy or girl becuase he's neutured people assume he's a girl even though there are some pretty obvious clues that he's a boy . I think I would know if my dog was a girl.

Oh yes, I also get into arguments about my "Rottweiler", those people crack me up because they think they know so much but in reality know so little.

*LOL* Maybe the guy is relating how big the boston terriers seemed to him when he was a little kid and didn't think of the fact that he may have grown taller since he has last seen one. :p :D

HAHAHA thats a good one lol

I have had people ask if Teddy is a weimeraner (lol I don't think I spelled that right) but mostly they ask if he is a ridgeback which by looking at him isn't too far fetched Only one person has ever come up to Teddy and said "Hey buddy you sure do look like a Coonhound" I was shocked lol

I have to admit I have trouble identifying toy fuzzy white breeds ! Especially those who haven't been groomed !

I have to admit...I had to laugh as I was trying to visualize Sal with the buggy eyes..and a smashed nose. Just couldn't see the resemblance. lol

I know what you mean...Poor Brutus has had so many people think he is a "beautiful" mixed breed...or a heavy boned Dane. I appreciate the people that just call him a bull mastiff, at least they have the mastiff part right. lol

Sal is the purdiest Boston I've ever seen. :D

I have had someone insist that my Border Collie was a Springer Spaniel. It was weird.

Kinda like the day Buffy (our first Fila) treed a couple of guys on the top of their truck. They'd come up to the farm to see about buying some old tractor parts and hadn't called first. She had 'em pinned on top of their truck, and one guy just kept saying over and over again - no matter how many times we told him differently - that she was "the biggest G-D hound he'd ever seen!" :D

I've had someone call my border collie mix a German Shepherd :p She does have black and tan (and is mixed with GSD), but her ears are floppy and she's got quite a bit of white, too. I thought it was funny.
