soo it's all good as long as your product is less expensive thanks to it? IMO if you are going to complain about human welfare, it shouldn't matter what the product is or what it costs. It doesn't become any better for the workers that they are making a $500 IPAD or a $200 like product.
I think apple products are MORE than worth the expense. The everywhere apple stores, apple geniuses, the hand-on customer service all that provides and entails is IMO is one of many perfectly logical reasons their products cost what they do.
I buy clothes that are fair wage or made in America, I research products before I buy them. My parents are from haiti and both are human rights activists, one of whom runs her own charity and women's shelter.. and apple gets A LOT of hate for what it does but honestly, if you are buying an electronic these days, there aren't any "safe options" or "fair wage" options (at least none that worked for us). So I really don't see why apple takes all the flack.
I would love it if apple had better working conditions. Don't get me wrong.
but the attitude of "Oh well since they are so expensive they SHOULDN'T do it but it's ok for X, Y and Z to do it because their products are cheaper" IMO, is bananas.

We don't do apple (as stated) because NO, we don't find them worth the price difference. As a matter of fact, I hadn't even heard about this story until Renee posted on FB and here...........I mentioned it to Kevin, and yes, he'd heard of it but hadn't thought enough of it to bring it up.
I was just offering an observation over why so many folks might be a bit upset over the working conditions and *might* feel they have a reason to 'squawk'. One would think (again, for the prices they charge) that perhaps they could pay a bit more for their labor........that was all. Nothing more.
PS...I've been drawn into the apple vs pc debates and issues before, won't do it again. I probably shouldn't have said as much as I have, so I'm out
